This digital day counter by Days Ago is an incredible Mom invention. Classy Mommy loves it. This little gadget is magnetic and will stick to your baby jar lids (or pasta sauce!) and tell you how long ago since you opened it! Once you set the clock, it will display the number of days elapsed up to 99. Perfect to prevent waste so you know just when you opened that jar of green beans for your 7 month old!

Last year I reviewed the DaysAgo Digital Day counters. DaysAgo was invented by 2 Moms and is a very clever contraption to help you recall just "how many days ago" you opened that jar of baby food or container of spaghetti sauce in your fridge. I just got a press release alerting me to the latest addition to their DaysAgo collection - a special Pink DaysAgo - inspired by co-inventor Kathleen Whitehurst's 8th year anniversary as Breast Cancer Survivor. The Pink DaysAgo is part of her commitment to helping women of all ages get into the habit of doing regular self breast exams. Kudos to Kathleen for reminding all of us just how important these monthly breast exams are to detecting early tumors; which can lead to the greatest chance of survival. This product hits home for me. I've received a few emails from readers questioning me alluding to a recent cancer scare. Luckily, I'm fine but 2 weeks ago I discovered a lump in my breast when feeding Kyle. I went the OB and my doc sent me for an ultrasound the very next day with the hopes it was only a cyst. Unfortunately, it was a solid mass (aka tumor!). I met with a surgeon a few days later and it had doubled in size that quickly - it was bigger than a quarter. She thought I would be fine based on my age, no family history, etc. but was concerned about how quickly it was growing. I had surgery to have it removed a few days later for a full biopsy. It was a whirlwind, but thank heavens it was fine. Pathology showed it to be a tumor called a lactating adenoma which is associated with the hormones of pregnancies and breastfeeding. Needless to say, I encourage all of you busy young Moms to remember that we still need to do monthly self exams.
