Yes, these night vision goggles really work. My husband has never been so enthusiastic to assist in a product review so I assure you that little boys and their Dads will get a real thrill out of this gift! The goggles are powered by official night vision technology and enable the user to see up to 50 feet in a complete dark environment. And in case siblings are hoping to spy on each other, wildlife, (or their neighbors!), no one will be able to see them wearing their goggles as they are powered by "infrared technology". I'm no techno guru but I promise you these goggles really do work as I tested them out myself in the complete darkness - and sure enough I had "night vision". The only important thing to note is that these nifty goggles really are a "TOY" and although you can totally see in the dark with them, you do not really have "depth perception" so don't expect to go running around playing a game of tag in the dark.
