A Bad Moms Christmas (in theaters now) has already taken the world by storm.  Here’s our thoughts on A Bad Moms Christmas Movie Review and 5 Reasons Why Bad Moms Christmas Will Be a top holiday movie. As I saw first-hand surrounded by hundreds of screaming women at the movie screening, this story isn’t about women being perfect or about the perfect Christmas. It’s the realistic version of the holidays as three moms try to make family memories during a hectic time of year while dealing with THEIR OWN Moms … who aren’t trying to take over just the holiday, but their homes, too! This movie is filled with a ton of laughter but has a heart-warming angle that will leave you feeling like a huge hot cup of cocoa inside. Love it!

A Bad Moms Christmas Movie Review and 5 Reasons Why Bad Moms Christmas Will Be a top holiday movie

Here’s 5 reasons why I think A Bad Moms Christmas will be crushing the holiday season this year

Me with Cheryl Hines, Susan Sarandon, and two other bloggers

1. A Bad Moms Christmas DOES NOT feel like a Sequel

Typically, you can’t imagine a movie being any funnier or more clever than the original. That’s NOT the case for Bad Moms Christmas. I fully expected a larger focus on Amy’s (Mila Kunis) love life, but that wasn’t any part of the big storyline. The movie is really focused on three moms working through their unique relationships with their own moms. And I know this is something all us Moms can totally relate too! Especially how that relationship escalates during the holiday chaos!!! LOL 🙂

2. The Cast is all Real moms with daughters.

All six moms in the movie (Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Cherly Hines, Susan Sarandon, and Christine Baranski) are moms with daughters in real life. I think that’s part of what makes this movie so relatable and life-like. You can easily see yourself in one of the moms and laugh with her throughout her daily challenges — especially when it comes to the holidays. You might even be able to see your own mom in one of these women and put yourself in her shoes for a moment.

3.The Grandmoms in the movie were picked by the Mom Actresses

Kristen Bell shared in our recent interview about how Cheryl Hines was selected as her movie mom. Kristen said, “We kind of got to pick. And I think that’s what made this movie really worth it for me.” Honestly, after meeting everyone in person during interviews, and seeing the movie, I have to say it was almost scary how perfectly casted these women were for each other!!!!

4. Dancing Santas

Justin Hartley plays the exotic male, Santa-suit-wearing dancer. Seeing him in this more humorous role (opposed to his role in This is Us) is probably the most popular scene in Bad Moms Christmas. I’ll leave it at that for now, but welcome Justin to your new adoring fans. There’s a lot of them these days.

5. The Sky zone scene is magical

My favorite scene of the movie is where all of the families (including the grandmas) go to Sky Zone. Although one grandma in the movie was not happy about this activity, everyone got into the spirit when it came to trampoline dodge ball. It was hilarious to watch these women lay it all out there. In my recent interview with the cast, I had to ask them about it. Kathryn on Kristen’s jumping abilities: “It was like this adorable blonde elf bouncing. She was so high. It was so amazing.”

You’ll also be cracking up at Baranski’s competitive side. I can’t wait for you to see it!

Grab your friends and family and catch this movie over the holidays. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you may realize that being a “bad mom” may not be so bad after all.
