Pretty Pushers Maternity Delivery Gowns

Who wouldn’t want to modernize their labor day with a stylish and trendy delivery gown instead of wearing another grimy gown that has been worn by hundreds before you? I seriously wish one of these trendy gowns had been gifted to me for review before the birth of my 2nd child. The trend is growing now for colorful, feminine, and personal delivery gowns – and if I ever dare tackle round 3 in the labor room I promise I will be dressed up for the occasion next time. Pretty Pushers were developed a group of NYC moms who believe in fun, fashion, and the right to hold onto it even on the delivery table. Included in the fantastic pregnant-lady-shaped package is a soft cotton gown with access to all the right areas (low-cut back for the epidural and a tie-closure front for monitors), matching headband, and 3 fun and necessary little cosmetic items. Johnson’s Head to Toe Foaming Wash

Did you know that Johnson’s No More Tears formula is celebrating their 50th anniversary? Getting soap in your eyes is not fun – and with a toddler keeping soap out of their eyes is almost impossible. To save me from the "burn", I know my Mom relied on Johnson’s No More Tears formula when I was a tot, and I can’t imagine my kids bathtime without Johnson’s No More Tears. Both Mom Central and Johnson’s asked me to review their new line of No More Tears Head to Toe Foaming Wash. I’m crazy for it as it pumps and foams just like you’d imagine and it’s now paired with the No More Tears formula we all trust. My 3 year old uses it in the bath and shower to literally wash herself from head to toe – as we use it as shampoo too. So I don’t have to worry about her getting soap in her eyes as she scrubs down and washes her own hair like a big girl. California Baby Calming Shampoo & Body Wash

Do you have a baby with sensitive skin? California Baby might be your answer as it has worked wonders for us. My son Kyle reacts to many bath products as he has eczema – but I’ve been using California Baby Shampoo and Body Wash for Kyle ever since he was about 3 months old. Super soothing with a sweet smell we love and it definitely helps eliminate the "crunchy" skin. California Baby contains organic and sustainably grown ingredients and is tear free so we can use it to wash his body and hair. It’s free of Sodium lauryl sulfate, DEA, and numbing agents. Truly this wash helped Kyle’s cradle cap and eczema and we’re still using it for all his baths at 15 months. Classy Mommy Approved! For more information, click here. Price: $10

Swine Flu Natural Remedy Sambucus Original Black Elderberry Syrup

With non stop media talk about the swine flu and the continual reminders to not panic, I profess I’m on alert. Full disclosure is I’m no medical expert but saw talk on the internet from Doctors and Parents about Elderberry syrup being a natural remedy for flu symptoms and an immunity booster along with being safe for children. Studies have shown it to reduce the number of days you are ill as well. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and have ended up with pneumonia after having the regular flu so I figured it couldn’t hurt to order some just in case……I placed my order for this Nature’s Way product from Amazon yesterday so we’ll see how it tastes and what my preschooler thinks of it. Supposedly there are safe doses for children and I’ve heard parents put it on top of pancakes or in a fruit smoothie for their children or themselves on a daily basis anyhow regardless of the pending swine flu drama. I like to be prepared and in this case, other than hand washing and using hand sanitizers as much as possible, I thought I’d like to add a natural remedy to my arsenal as well. We’ll see how it goes! Boogie Wipes

Boogie Wipes, created to solve the problem of wiping the crusty & runny noses of toddlers and preschoolers, are truly an innovative product invented by two Moms. Last week I had the privilege to interview Boogie Wipes Founders, Mindee and Julie to learn more about their biz. Truly, these one of a kind saline wipes are designed to encourage kids to deal with the nose wipe instead of running in the other direction. Moms love them and sales of these buggers have taken off as Moms struggle with boogies on a daily basis. I wish I had tried these out a year ago as ever since Kyle got RSV when he was 6 weeks old I’ve been battling the boogies. After our phone conversation, the folks at Boogie Wipes sent me out a bunch of products to try. They’ve got all different size packages – some for at home and smaller ones for on the go. And I really love the grape scented boogie wipes. I noticed how much easier a wet saline "boogie wipe" made it for me to swipe my toddler’s crusty nose or big boogies! Very helpful and I couldn’t help thinking I wish I had invented these wipes! I’m impressed with Mindee & Julie’s entrepreneurial success and genius marketing ideas which have helped them score distribution in major retailers like Walmart and I can’t wait to see what these girls will do next! Clarcon Hand Sanitizer Recall

Attention parents! Another scary recall as I know I use a ton of hand sanitizer on my kids. The FDA has found that some Clarcon skin products contain bacteria that may make you sick. Consumers are being warned not to use any Clarcon products including Citrushield Lotion, Dermassentials Dermabarrier, Iron Fist Barrier Hand Treatment, Skin Shield Restaurant, Skin Shield Industrial, and others. Click here to see the report for consumers issued by the FDA.

An alternative hand sanitizer, CleanWell, is the only hand sanitizer that is all-natural and alcohol-free. You can buy it here.

California Baby Natural Bug Repellant Spray

I’m a huge fan of this California Baby Natural Bug Repellent spray. We just started using this lightweight spray to deter the buggers. I’ve always held off on using Bug Spray on the kiddies until recently when 3 year old Kenzie ended up getting terrible bug bites at the beach which ended up becoming infected and turned into Cellulitus 10 days post bites. A visit to the doctor and a course of Antibiotics resolved her infection but made me realize we needed to give bug spray a chance. Coincidentally, we just received a natural spray from California Baby to test. California Baby’s bug spray is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and formulated from lemon eucalyptus and California Baby’s Citronella Bug Blend which is composed of citronella, cedarwood atlas & lemongrass. Last week during our evening family walks and runs at the River Trail, we used this bug spray. We had good results and did not get bitten alive plus we love the lightweight spritz and how natural it smells. Best of all I feel good knowing I’m using a trusted natural brand and a repellant that does not contain DEET. Both Kenzie and I typically get bitten alive, while the boys are always fine. Must be our 0+ blood type attracting the buggers! Classy Mommy Approved. For more information, click here. Price: $13

Piggy Paint Natural Non Toxic Nail Polish

Introducing Piggy Paint a safe non toxic and odorless nailpolish for kids. What a cool idea.My little girl is a natural born fashionista who loves the chance to dig into beauty products. She gets a real thrill from both giving and receiving makeovers. She has a grandtime with her plastic fake make up but especially loves the real make up results. Lip gloss, blush, eye shadow and nail polish are favorites in her kiddie beauty kit. We took a bottle of Piggy Paint for a test run on our toes and fingernails and the results practically equaled that of Mom’s Opi brand but there was no potent nail polish smellwhatsoever. Very cool and made me begin to question just how safe the beauty goodies really are that I’ve been letting her mess around with. Piggy Paint is a bit pricey at $10a bottle but concerned Parents will definitely feel better knowing thier kiddies are usinga nailpolish made of natural ingredients designed by a Mom with safety in mind. Piggy Paint isfree of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate, and acetone. Over14 colors to choose from along with combo packs that include nailpolish remover. And you”ll love the color names – Clouds of Candy for Blue and a Gorgeous pink called Forever Fancy. Piggy Paint even provided manicures for the kids at Tori Spelling’s little girl Stella’s 1st birthday party. Too bad Mackenzie wasn’t invited as that would have been fabulous.Maybe we’ll do makeovers for her 4th birthday party. She’d love it as she is all over Piggy Paint. Classy Mommy Approved. elf Blending Eye Shadow Brush

Wow. I can’t believe it’s taken me 20 years to realize that a better eye shadow blush exists besides that minute brush that comes free with every eye shadow. After randomly getting a free makeover at the Chanel counter at the Mall last summer – yes, they pulled this harried Mom aside with both a 3 yr old and 1 yr old in tow – I must have looked pretty bad -they gave me some super tips. The #1 tip was to really blend my eye shadow invest in a good brush. The prices at Chanel were high and I loved the e.l.f. brushes I’ve owned for the past year, so this Christmas I ordered myself a bunch of these $1 eye shadow brushes from e.l.f. Obviously, you can’t beat the price. I’m happy to report that the quality and functionality are top notch too. I’ve found it so much easier to apply eye shadow holding a brush that is almost 6 inches long vs 1 inch and blending two tones is cinch too. Elf also has smudge brushes, blending brushes, and more. If you’ve never given e.l.f. products a try, I’d recommend starting out with their fabulous brushes. Classy Mommy Approved. For more information, click here. Price: $1
