Uggh. The Flu. I’m sure hoping my family and I don’t suffer from the seasonal flu this year or the dreaded H1N1 virus either. And when Moms come down with the flu it’s a total disaster since for many of us this job is 24/7 and does not include sick days!
We’ll all be getting our shots in the coming month! As an asthmatic and person who is susceptible to pneumonia, I’ve always been a believer in flu shots as it has been somewhat mandatory given my medical history. Plus, if I get a flu shot, it is the one way I can offer protection to my toddler son Kyle. He is allergic to eggs – so he falls into the “can not” receive a flu shot category. This makes me especially worried as we head into this flu season that has received some much media hype. Kyle had RSV as a 6 week old newborn and has history of all kinds of ear issues, so I worry about subsequent ear infections & pneumonia from the Flu. However, there is nothing we can do about it except have the rest of the family get their shot and hope for the best.

My best friend pays a $35 copay to visit the doctor even though the shots are free, she’s considering just getting it at a pharmacy this season for the entire family.
