With all the rampant news about plastic baby bottles containing the potentially harmful hormone disrupting chemical Bisphenol-A, I recently ordered Born Free baby bottles to replace my Avent bottle set. We had great luck with the Born Free bottles; truly they are ordinary plastic bottles. The difference you will notice as explained by the manufacturer is that the plastic has a yellow tinge caused by the absence of BPA and phthalates.
