Crafting a Recycling Bin for the Bathroom – inspired by #ProjectSunlight #BrightFuture

Inspired by Project Sunlight’s summer activities for kids to help us create a more sustainable world, Kenzie and I decided to go green in our bathroom. We added a recycling bin to our bathroom by recycling a cardboard box and decorating it with leftover tissue paper that coordinated with my master bath decor.

Going Green in our Master Bathroom

Here’s all we needed to make our own recycling bin. We used mixed recyclables in our neighborhood so we don’t need to separate cardboards from plastic. If you collection is separate, simply add a divider to your bin that you can make from one of your box flaps.

Until we added this recycling bin to our bathroom I didn’t realize how many “recyclables” I often miss in the bathroom – like shampoo bottles, cardboard toilet paper rolls, soap boxes, packaging from make up and more.
