Holiday Highlights of Disney Cruise Halloween on the High Seas

Happy Halloween! We loved celebrating Halloween early on Disney Cruise Lines for their Halloween on the High Seas celebrations. Check out our Holiday Highlights of Disney Cruise Halloween on the High Seas !
Disney Cruises are always fabulous and magical, but adding in a touch of the holiday season makes it even more spectacular as the cruise becomes filled with all these additional seasonal themed activities, parties, and celebrations.

We had the absolute BEST TIME EVER sailing on Halloween on the High Seas. I love holidays and getting festive so to this on board was spectacular for my family. I think anyone will love a Disney Cruise any time of year, but I’m now definitely sold on the idea of trying to do a Halloween or Merry Holiday cruise as I love the extra fanfare.

So what happens on a Halloween Disney Cruise? Basically, it’s a normal sailing with spooky touches throughout the ship along with a few rocking extra special Halloween activities that are fun for the entire family. Subtle decor throughout the ship, characters in Halloween costumes, special spooky treats, Trick or Treating at Mickey’s Costume Party, and our favorite was the Pumpkin Tree activities.

The Pumpkin Tree

This was our absolute favorite. The Pumpkin Tree is the focal point of the atrium and looks large, gorgeous and literally just lets you know upon entrance to the ship that you are on a Halloween sailing. Love it!

The 1st night of the sailing, the caretaker tells the kids the Legend of the Pumpkin Tree. The kids plant seeds and then the next night it blooms. My kids thought this was great and they were captivated by it all.

Here’s Kenzie and Kyle planting their pumpkin seeds!

 Halloween Decor

Subtle decor like Jack-O-Lantern and spider web window clings on select portholes, the pumpkin tree in the atrium, and of course a Minnie and Mickey Pumpkin too.

Mickey’s Masquerade Ball

It’s a show, topped off by a dance party and trick or treating. Total highlight! We loved it. Guests went all out too.  Of course the kids were dressed up but parents too. There was even a multi-generation extended family all dressed as the 101 Dalmations. Genius!

The kids even got to dance with characters in costumes as they were literally spread out throughout the atrium.

Characters in Costumes

LOVE LOVE LOVE the characters in costume. From Pluto looking like a Candy Corn to Chip and Dale as Cops & Robbers I couldn’t get enough of them!

Halloween Cocktails

For the adults, there’s also special dance parties, costume contests and of course spooky cocktails.

Note: Thanks to Disney Cruise Line for hosting my family on this sailing.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
