Disney Living Week 8: Happy Healthy Halloween #Giveaway

Treating kids to an exciting Halloween doesn’t have to be a scary prospect for parents….but I admit this year I’m kind of terrified about the candy after poor Kyle’s cavity diagnosis – 3 years old and 8 cavities – horrifying for sure and the thought of adding Halloween to his mouth a week after this diagnosis is very frightening to Mom & Dad.

Do you try to give out healthy treats or toys instead of candy? Check out Disney’s Healthy Living Challenge for this week here on Facebook – share your thoughts!

These were my 2 favorite products we sampled from Disney this week – both made my life soooo simple. The super easy to use face paint which was the best face paint / tattoo type item I’ve ever used in my life – so easy to apply. And the easy to hand out Utz Cars Pretzel snacks. My kids and their friends have been indulging in these for the past few weeks – delicious and nutritious when it comes to treats!

  1. It does seem harder to keep kids healthy starting right now all the way through Christmas time! There seems to be treats, parties and festivals everywhere you turn. So I try to stay balanced and let my kids have fun but also keep our daily eating very healthy (including lots of water and little sugar) so that they can go ahead and enjoy a cupcake at a party or some candy after halloween. 🙂 creedamy [at] yahoo[dot] com

  2. My son is not a big candy eater and what he gets lasts him forever. I keep it for a month and what is not eaten gets tossed

  3. Luckily, our son doesn’t like chocolate. So he gets one piece a day, and within a few days, it’s all chocolate and he doesn’t care about it anyway, so I take it to work.

  4. I keep it somewhere they can’t see it. Or waaay up high. Out of sight out of mind. I actually have a harder time keeping out of Dad’s hands lol. I also like to use it as a reward. We aren’t really a dessert household so if they finish everything good for them on their plate they can pick a piece after supper.

  5. Crayola has the face paint stick on’s and they are great. I like to hand out pencil’s, tattoos, or play doh on Halloween.

  6. These healthy alternative to candy all look great. My little girl would really love the face paint!
