Disney’s New & Improved Dumbo

Can we can a giant cheer for basically not having to wait in line to ride Dumbo?

Basically, Disney is reducing that traditional giant line to ride Dumbo with this new expansion of the Dumbo attraction. They’ve doubled the size of the ride as well as there are now Two Dumbos – one going clockwise and other counterclockwise. We got the scoop and were able to experience it all during our media tour of New Fantasyland last month. It is AWESOME and totally open for all guests at the Magic Kingdom in the Storybook Circus section of New Fantasyland.

Two Dumbos also means there is now the addition of two options to ride Dumbo – either via FAST PASS or by the traditional line which now includes an Interactive queue that lets children play in Dumbo’s Big Top Tent while Mom & Dad hold a beeper that pages you when it’s time for your flight.  And let me tell you, the Big Top Tent is tons of fun for the kids and will let you avoid a long wait time even if you don’t use a fast pass.

Here’s a video tour about Dumbo’s Interactive Queue and Big Top Tent. You can see a view of my kids frolicing around in the tent too.

Here are some photos of Kenzie and Kyle enjoying Dumbo’s Big Top Tent play area. And I profess Mom and Dad enjoyed resting on the benches that completely surrounded this secure, safe, and AIR CONDITIONED play space.

There was something for all the kids from toddlers to 10 year olds with slides, tunnels, and everything in between!

It’s also totally worth mentioning that visiting Dumbo and Storybook Circus in both day and night is 2 totally different experiences. I highly recommend doing it both day and night if your travel schedule allows as you get a beautiful sky high view of Magic Kingdom while riding Dumbo and the lights at night make it extra magical too!

Dumbo by day…..

And here is Dumbo by night……

The lights of Storybook Circus at night are enchanting with even more of a circus vibe.

We absolutely LOVED Storybook Circus and hanging out in this area of New Fantasyland.

Pure magic and it brings out the child in everyone. Clowns, cotton candy, and circus tunes.

When your hanging out in this section of New Fantasyland, if you haven’t booked a character meal or are anxious for photos with characters, be sure to also check out Pete’s Silly Side Show too. They offer a permanent area with photo opps for character meet and greets. It’s a very cute set up that we adored.

Pete’s Silly Side show is next to the souvenir shop across from Dumbo. This was one of my kids favorites too. Kyle bought his beloved and adorable Timothy Q. Mouse here.

Thanks to Disney for including us in their media grand opening event for New Fantasyland. We received free park tickets and our many of our travel expenses were covered for this exciting experience. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
