The “Safe and Bright Blogger Network” is a partnership with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a safety certification company that has been testing, verifying and inspecting products for over 115 years. You may already know them– the UL Mark can be found on all kinds of everyday products to certify that they have been tested, inspected and verified for safety. In fact, the average home has more than 128 products with the UL Mark on them.
With the tragic loss of my friend’s 2 sons on Christmas Day fire, this really hits home. Here’s some holiday decorating tips from UL – stay safe.

It is so important to keep safety in mind for our houses, it's something that is so easy to overlook but even little things like changing batteries in smoke alarms twice a year and using UL certified products particularly during Christmas when there are so many lights and extension cords being plugged in!

We have stopped using candles and incense in our home due to the increased risk of house fires .
Instead we use our low watt electric Scentsy warmer . Much safer to use around pets and kids PLUS NO SOOT BUILD UP .
