Hanes Virtual Sock Drive

Here’s an easy way to make a difference. The annual Hanes virtual sock drive has arrived!

New fans of Hanes can help donate socks to The Salvation Army by “liking” Hanes on Facebook nd current fans can simply click “donate now” on the Sock tab from November 16th – December 12th, 2011.

Did you know that socks are one of the most needed items? (Think about it – people rarely remember to donate their old socks or those with holes in them. So new socks for those in need are a total treat!)

This year alone Hanes will donate up to 500,000 individual socks (250,000 pairs) to The Salvation Army with the help of the Hanes Facebook community.

As a member of Hanes Comfort crew I’m feeling extra inspired on the sock front.

I’m trying to encourage others to donate socks with a real life sock drive at our pre-school too. With the help of my energetic friend Shannon, all these socks we collect – along with another 250 pairs that Hanes is sending me to donate will go to the Joy of Sox - a local organization in Philly that provides socks to the homeless.

It’s easy to do too – take a peek at the poster she made.

We just left a laundry basket in the gathering area at preschool for people to donate socks. Then we’ll deliver them to an AMAZING organization in Philadelphia, Joy of Sox, that will help get these new socks on the right feet.
