Hanging with Jennifer Garner at the Frigidaire Kids’ Cooking Academy

Tomorrow, the kids and I will be hanging out on a farm with Jennifer Garner. Hopefully, we’ll survive the 101 degree heat and my casual style choice of shorts, tank, and flip flops will suffice for my “field day” farming activity with my most favorite celeb. Wonder if Jennifer’s stylist helps her pick out an outfit for the farm and heat? Or if she can just go as she likes?

The kids have visions of picking wild blueberries and eating them as they pick each delicious berrry – just like little Sal from one of our favorite stories, “Blueberries for Sal.”  Little  Kyle is very excited to tell Jennifer he loves cucumbers and baked beans  as I told them the day will be about eating fresh healthy foods. And now he especially wants to meet her again – since he is convinced she  must be a REAL farmer too since we will be meeting her on a farm. And for a 3 year old boy, thinking Jennifer Garner is also a farmer is far more interesting and intriguing than the ambiguity of me referring to her as a celebrity.

Kenzie and Kyle will be joining Frigidaire brand ambassador Jennifer Garner – yes she is my FAVE celebrity Mom and actress – to kick off the Kids’ Cooking Academy Summer Session campaign in support of Save the Children. So fun!

This will be our 3rd event with Jennifer Garner to support Save the Children and we couldn’t be more excited – both to see Jennifer and to support Save the Children.

She is so down to earth and amazing with the kids as you can tell. Here Kyle is chatting with her while he is busy making a craft last Fall.

Here’s a fun pic of me from last year when I was confessing my Alias obsession to her!

Jennifer will be giving the kids and I a lesson in eating fresh too. V. excited to hear her tips as I always see those paparrazi photos of her at the Farmer’s Market with the kids so I’ll be anxious to hear what this down to earth Mom cooks up for her kidlets.

To help give more children access to fresh foods, Frigidaire is also unveiling a partnership with the location-based “check in” app, Gowalla.  Starting June  9th when people check in at their local Farmer’s Markets via the app, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children, as part of their $500,000 commitment to the cause.

Also, each time you visit Make Time For Change and play, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children. So easy and such a simple way for us all to make a difference and support Save the Children.

Disclosure: Frigidaire will pay our travel expenses to attend this event but the Jennifer Garner obsession is all my own 🙂
