Join the #RedThumb Movement with @NissanUSA to prevent Texting and Driving and $25 Gift Card #Giveaway

Take the #RedThumb pledge to prevent texting and driving! Nissan offered us a chance to spread the word about the Red Thumb Movement to prevent texting and driving. With it, we’re giving away a fun prize pack for 2 lucky readers. Fun! And of course, I’m styling in my red thumb! Take the pledge and enter to win our prize package below.

Our family hearts Nissan as we used to own a Nissan Murano for 4 years when the kids were tiny  — it was one of my most favorite vehicles EVER and I’ve driven a lot of cars having worked for a car manufacturer! Love that Nissan is asking people to take the #RedThumb pledge!

  1. I learned about this campaign on “The Voice” and I’m so glad that it’s getting widespread attention — it’s an important issue and one that can save many lives needlessly lost because of technology addiction!

  2. Five seconds is the average time your eyes are off the road while texting. When traveling at 55mph, that’s enough time to cover the length of a football field.

  3. My cousin was killed in a car accident by a distracted driver. He had just celebrated his 21st birthday the week before. The driver that caused the accident was not jailed just points on the license and a civil suit. They never even apologized. This campaign is great but we need to fight for tougher laws. You shouldn’t be allowed to kill someone because you felt the need to LOL at your boyfriend’s text message. If you can’t control yourself lock the phone in the trunk until you reach your destination.

  4. OH such an important campaign! I always put my phone down when I get in the car, and do not pick up until I arrive where I am going. I do worry about the kids and hope and pray they are doing the same!

  5. Hooray for Nissan ! I love a company that cares and this is a great campaign.
One that can definitely make a difference and help save lives.

  6. Today we were almost hit by not oone but two people on phones. My truck died and we were on the shoulder of the road … they were drifting over to the right both times and obviously on some deevice-one camee so close it scared the fella who did it and he allmost wrecked into the car on hs left when he over compensated – the road was snowy and icy.. I wish he had read this post.
