Need a Trendy and Affordable Spring Dress? Try Chaps from Kohl’s

My springtime social calendar tends to bloom right along with the blossoming of spring flowers  – which means I always need several new fashionable and stylish options for Mother’s Day, outdoor cocktail parties, and special events at my children’s school – from preschool graduations to concerts to mother’s day tea parties. I never want to break the bank on a dress purchase since it’s not something I’ll wear everyday, but I always love to incorporate new trends and update my wardrobe for special events.

Enter the Chaps brand found at Kohl’s. I am crazy about this Front Knot Dress by Chaps sold at Kohl’s.

The entire Chaps spring dress line is affordable and very flattering to so many figure types.  My favorite look that I tried out was this Knot Dress. The fabric is washable and doesn’t wrinkle – awesome for packing in a suitcase! Giant bonus. Plus, I found that the “knot” in my chest area actually gave me a bit of a boost.  There was even a built in “modesty” piece somewhat like a built in bra too which is great as then I don’t have to worry about my real bra peeking out behind the material.

This knot dress is on sale right now for $46.75 from $85. What a deal. It’s available in both this blue shade called Hydrangea and a beautiful peach shade called Coral Reef.

3 Trends that are in this spring  – and also available from Chaps at Kohl’s:

1. Bold Bright colors – Coral, Emerald, Royal Blues/Purples

2. Floral Patterns

3. Stripes

Floral patterns are very in for Spring 2013. Here’s another fun spring dress style from Chaps that is very flattering to so many figures. It’s more sleeveless with a v-neck and princess seams all down the body of the dress.

Sleeveless with a v-neck and princess seams all down the body of the dress. Also washable, the colors just shout out spring and as you can tell this Chaps dress even matches the spring flowers in my yard. The dress feels really comfortable too and is just something bright and cheery for the upcoming warm weather.

It’s fun to create a new look for this dress by pairing it with various colored cardigans or scarves – this is an ideal way to wear the same dress to multiple events just by switching from a yellow or pink sweater or scarf. Priced on sale at $55 down from $100.

  1. You look great in both, but I’d like the blue dress for myself. (Can’t do prints or stripes!) Must get to Kohls… :)

  2. I LOVE the first dress! I think I would wear it in the coral, though the blue is just as pretty.
