Looking for easy ways to add citrus and fresh fruit to your winter menu? I’m sure you’ll love our Orange, Strawberry and Chocolate Gluten Free Crepes Recipe. All the details on just how easy it is to make these gluten free crepes is below. And the crepes are so light, airy, and delicious, you’d never know they were gluten free. YUM!

Navel Orange Chocolate Strawberry Crepes

Fresh fruit produce can be expensive in the winter, so I love to incorporate more citrus into my grocery shopping as it tends to be far more affordable in winter months when compared to the fresh strawberries and blueberries my children devour daily in summer. Walmart challenged us to purchase their Navel Oranges and incorporate them into a recipe.  Walmart’s Navel Oranges were priced at only $6.98 for a gigantic bag at my local store. Incredible value!

Even better, Walmart offers a 100% freshness guarantee on their produce. It’s simple – if you’re not completely satisfied with Walmart’s produce, just bring back your receipt and they will issue a full refund no questions asked — and no need to bring back the purchase. Nice!

First, make your crepes. Recipe details are below. Then, top with sliced navel oranges, sliced strawberries, and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Drizzle the interior with chocolate. Next, roll the crepe and drizzle with chocolate again. Add more navel orange slices as a garnish. Divine!

Ingredients & Directions:

Mix together the following ingredients.

1 3/4 Cup Gluten Free Pancake Mix (we use Mama’s Pancake Mix from Gluten Free Mama)

2 eggs lightly beaten

1 Tbsp Oil

2 cups Milk

Note: Be sure your batter is much thinner than a traditional pancake mix.

Instructions for Cooking Crepes:

Cook over medium heat. Pour into a large frying pan, making 1 crepe at a time. Bake until the top layer is bubbling, then flip with a spatula. Your crepe is finished when it is golden and brown on top and of obviously looks cooked. These will be delicate and thin.

Let cool for a few minutes before topping with the fresh fruit and drizzling with chocolate and powdered sugar. Enjoy!

You can tell my children thought these were finger licking good!

Garnish with Navel Oranges

We’ve been enjoying this bag of oranges all week.  Navel oranges offer up tons of Vitamin C, excellent taste my kids love, it’s wonderful in our homemade smoothies, as a garnish the kids will eat, and of course I incorporate it into other fruity dishes we eat like these homemade crepes we had last night for dessert.

  1. If Walmart cared at all about well-bring and motherhood, they would STOP support farms that use gestation crates and that treat mother pigs like garbage! Gestation crates are incredibly cruel and the pigs in them cannot even stand up or turn around! http://www.WalmartCruelty.com
