Organic Baby Food by Sprout

Delish! Sprout Baby Food is a yummy (and healthy!) line of all organic baby food created by Executive Chef Tyler Florence. Chef Tyler Florence is a regular fixture on the Food Network and makes regular appearances on the Today Show and Oprah so he knows his stuff. A few years ago, Sprout Baby Food sent Toddler Kyle a few pouches for a taste test which totally passed with flying colors. Kyle was nuts for the flavor Sweet Baby Carrots, Apples, and Mango. Mommy and Kenzie devoured some too and we can attest that we also loved the flavors! We just received more to review this month, as their line has expanded along with their distribution – Sprout Organic Baby Food is now sold at Walmart! Sprout Baby Food offers flavors that sound divine and are totally a step up in diversity from the boring organic varieties of Gerber that I used to purchase for my kids when they were toddlers. We’ve moved on from baby food, but the kids were so excited to see these cool packages arrive that we are now testing out the fruits again, as pureed fruit is a favorite no matter what the age! The food is sold in stages – single ingredients, simple combos and finally the fancy stuff -that even has texture. I soooo needed that when my kids were tiny as even now I have trouble getting them used to the texture of various foods. So what cool flavors does Sprout sell? Think Pasta with Lentil Bolognese or Summer Squash, Yukon Gold Potatoes and Parmesan for kids 7+ months along with the standard combos of yummy fruits and veggies you might expect. I saw they even have what I’d call a divine dessert example – Peach Pumpkin Pie with graham. Yes I want to taste test that one! Choose a case of 12 packages (size 3.5 oz) for $16 and you can choose a case with flavors of your own choosing. Groovy as this price sounds decent and fair for pre-packaged and pureed organic food with such diverse flavors. The packaging is BPA free and you can heat the food by running the pouch under warm water which will help retain nutrients and flavor. Also, Sprout Baby Food packaging can be recycled free of charge to TerraCycle who then "UpCycles" the pouches into new items like bibs or diaper bags. Very cool! Disclosure: I am a participant in the Walmart Moms program. I was provided with the products mentioned in this post for review purposes. Walmart has provided me with compensation for my time on this post but I love writing about hot finds and had even previously reviewed this fave cuisine find for babes in the past. As always, all opinions are my own. For more information, click here. Price: $4
