Guide to Family Travel in New York City

Planning an upcoming trip to New York City with the kids this spring? Check out my article with my advice and recommendations for an action packed fun family vacation in New York City on the Four Seasons Family Travel Blog titled, “Parents’ insider guide to family travel: in the Big Apple Four Seasons New York City”.   I always tell friends and readers that NYC is a MUST DO family destination. Children will be thrilled with the energy and vibe of the big city – from the concrete everywhere to the yellow cabs while Moms will love the culture, shopping, and excitement of a cosmopolitan family adventure.

We visited the Big Apple for Kenzie’s 7th Birthday weekend and loved every second of our trip – and so did the kids!

Strolling the city as a family is exciting and we hit tons of the classic commercial tourist stops but also really tried hard to immerse ourselves in the city by spending time in Central Park and hitting up neighborhood jaunts for meals. Kenzie and Kyle loved exploring all the great playgrounds in Central Park – visiting in the Fall or Spring is ideal for New York City. Not too hot and not too cold plus the leaves are either starting to bloom in spring or changing to brilliant shades of orange in Fall.

Central Park is awesome for taking great photos of the kids too – especially during the change of the seasons.

We even rode the carousel in Central Park for the very first time. We loved it so much I even bought the official photo of Mike and I enjoying our whimsical ride.

Alice’s Tea Cup is a must stop destination with real “neighborhood” feel. The kids loved it!

And I promise a stay at the Four Seasons will be incredible and a vacation in and of itself. Check out the view from our room here and you can read all about the extra special star treatment Four Seasons has for children in my review of Four Seasons New York here.

Kenzie, Kyle, Mom and Dad were all beyond delighted by the extra special attention that Kenzie got for her birthday. Top notch personal attention to every detail seems to come naturally at the Four Seasons as they continually surprise and thrill the kids with little treats – on their birthday or during any stay!
