The Joy of Running to #FindYourHealthy & $100 CVS Gift card #CVS #Giveaway

How do you find your healthy?? In our family, running is definitely a way we connect with our bodies to find our healthy! I’ve partnered with CVS to talk about how my family and I like to find our healthy. From age 8 to age 41, all of us find so much joy in the run. My husband and I met on the track team back in college so it’s fun now to have passed the gift of running onto to our children as a way to help them “Find Their Healthy”.

I can tell my children, ages 8 and 10, both feel stronger, more confident, and proud of themselves and the effort of their little bodies after they complete a run. Both hard and easy efforts seem to do wonders for my children’s attitudes and bodies. I find running provides both physical and mental fitness too! I think running teaches  the kids to be determined and believe in themselves. And the same goes for me at 40 years old — I may have learned those lessons long ago, but I find I learn them on every run whether it be hard or easy. As we all know, sometimes the runs and workouts do not come easily!

A quick easy 1 mile jog on a trail or a difficult 5K race full of determination to finish releases wonderful endorphins and I can see my children’s spirits boost in a positive way even with the exhaustion of their efforts.

Healthy Snacks for Fuel

Since our family is active athletically, we definitely need to find extra HEALTHY calories to fuel all our activity. As a Mom, I need to shop for healthy foods with some great energy and yummy taste to keep the kids and Dad making smart choices.

These are a handful of our families favorites. I’m obsessed with the Baked Rice Crisps. Every flavor is yummy but the BBQ style is my absolute favorite. My son is crazy for the Fuji Apple and Blueberry clusters. He can eat a bag in one sitting after a swim a practice or run!

My husband Mike is wild about these Jalapeno Cheddar Quinoa Puffs. I’m happy to buy these for him as it is FAR healthier than a bag of chips!

  21. I #FindYourHealthy by staying active. One habit I have developed is it involves long computer time, to get up, move and stretch. I take breaks for my eyes, and from sitting in one spot too long.

  33. I #FindYourHealthy on a daily basis by taking a vitamin, drinking a gallon of water, and meal prepping healthy meals and snacks so that I am consistent. Moving away from processed/boxed foods to more real homemade.

  34. I try to jog as much as I am able.Sometimes it is alternating a walk and a jog but I am working up more and more. Some days ar better than others! #FindYourHealthy

We find our #FindYourHealthy moments through ice hockey. our 9 yr old daughter has been playing for 6 years now and our 3 year old son has been ice skating for a year now. they both keeps us active with hockey year round. The season is from Aug-April and ion the off months it is filled with camps and classes.

  40. I head to the gym to do an hour on the treadmill while my daughter goes swimming. Then we meet up at the pool afterwards. It’s great for both of us to #FindYourHealthy way!

  42. I have changed my eating habits. I also take the dog on many daily walks. I also park in the back of parking lots so I have a longer walk to the store, work, etc. Plus, we have many steps in our house, so I am up and down them many times a day. When we do snack, I buy healthier snacks. I also have a bowl of fruit handy.

  43. My family finds our healthy by doing chores, like mowing the lawn, and vacuuming, cleaning rooms. My kids also like to toss the football around in the yard, but that dog gets crazy because he wants to get the ball and run with it! He finds it healthy too, I guess. 🙂 We also eat healthy, lots of fruits and veggies. I also encourage lots of water! I intend to get walking to the library, with the kids, now that school is out.
