Rarely does a movie cause me to laugh out loud one minute and shed a few tears the next, but the new movie Gifted somehow manages to give you all the feels. The Gifted movie hits theaters April 7th from Fox Searchlight and is an absolute must see heartwarming movie. I had the chance to interview the incredible duo from the movie, McKenna Grace and Chris Evans, and it felt like I was watching two siblings banter back and forth throughout the conversation. Check out a few of my favorite quotes from the interview that made it especially enjoyable…
The 5 most interesting quotes from the Gifted Movie cast interview
Quote #1: “I kept at least $5.” – Mckenna Grace
On how much money McKenna decided to keep for herself from Chris Evans’ “swear jar” earnings. The rest went to charity. The deal was $5 a swear word but $10 for the “big one.” See video clip below as McKenna calls Chris out:
Quote #2: “I thought of things that made me sad.” – McKenna Grace
On how McKenna could tap into such powerful emotions for an extremely intense scene in the movie. The success of this movie largely hinged on finding a young, talented actress that could portray all sorts of emotions, and it was an easy choice with this amazing girl.
Quote #3: “I like family drama and sweetness. I’m a big sap.” – Chris Evans
On what drew Chris to this role. He says that he has always been close to his family and was a sensitive kid. Never thought Captain America had such a soft side? What a guy, ladies!
Quote #4: “Like a real actor, I was like…are these actor dogs or are these real dogs up for adoption?” – Chris Evan
Question from Evans when he walked into the animal shelter featured in the film. Indeed, they were real animals up for adoptions. And Chris took one home with him. He was tempted to adopt more!
Quote #5: “I’m more of a hugger.” – McKenna Grace
McKenna’s response to a reporter who tried to shake her hand. This little girl has it all. The skills, the spunk, and now… our hearts.
