7 Benefits Of Drinking Matcha

What is Matcha?

Matcha what? The word matcha actually means “powdered tea.” The difference between matcha & “regular” green tea is //  when drinking green tea, the components from the leaves get infused into the hot water, then the leaves are discarded. With matcha, you’re drinking the actual leaves, which have been finely powdered and made into a solution. Matcha is made from high-quality tea and the whole leaves are ingested, you are getting more nutrients then regular green tea.

1 – boost your immune system: matcha contains various antioxidants that flood our body with the good, polyphenols, EGCG, L-theanine which collectively contribute in boosting the immune defense of the body and helps provide protection against various antigens.

2 – energy up!:  Matcha tea  contains a healthy form of caffeine, but not like normal java caffeine..This type of caffeine from matcha is called theophylline which helps sustains the energy without any adverse effects. The slow release of energy you get due to theophylline helps in supporting the functionality of adrenal glands and maintains optimum hormonal levels, which when balanced out- the better you feel! No jitters here! 🙂

3. detox: I think all of our favorites .. because who doesn’t love something that can detox the bod! The chlorophyll present in matcha tea accentuates its effectiveness in cleansing process of the body. Chlorophyll is an excellent detoxifier which  helps detoxify the blood. It aids in maintaining the alkalinity of blood and tissues << which is where we want ALL our bodies to be at. The more alkaline your body is, the less a sickness/ disease can occur 🙂

4. say no to infections : because matcha tea contains (EGCG) which is helps in fighting against various bacterial, viral and fungal infections.  After tons of research it’s been suggested that EGCG binds to the lipid membrane and exerts inhibitory action against growth of various important human pathogens including influenza A virus, hepatitis B and C virus.

5. stress less:  matcha is rich with  L-theanine, which is an amino acid that reduces stress and counteracts the caffeine in tea, while preserving alertness! ( perfect morning swap! )  This means matcha green tea won’t cause the same jittery side effects of coffee, but it will still keep you sharp and on your toes.

6. anti aging:  I think we can all agree it’s great to find natural anti aging help! Fill your cup up //  the people who have been known to live the longest are the residents of Okinawa, Japan. The Okinawan people’s longevity has been partly attributed to regular consumption of matcha green tea 😉 I think they are onto something 😉 It’s the most popular green tea in Japan and is rapidly gaining more popularity throughout the world because of its ability to combat inflammation, oxidation, and aging!
