Magic Kingdom! It really is my happiest place! Magic Kingdom brings out the kid in everyone and there’s no better spot to spend an extraordinary day with my family than in the Magic Kingdom. Anytime we visit Disney, we build in a minimum of 2 full days at the Magic Kingdom because to our family this really is one of the most magical and special places in the world. Magic Kingdom offers SO much to do – over and over again – that we want to maximize our time here so we can do everything we love – and honestly do it more than once! Check out our 7 Must Do’s at Magic Kingdom To Bring Out the Kid In Everyone.
7 Must Do’s at Magic Kingdom To Bring Out the Kid In Everyone
1. Visit Cinderella’s Castle
It’s glorious and magnificent.
I can’t ever get enough of it. I can honestly say that on every visit when I see the castle my eyes almost tear up on my arrival at Main Street since it invokes so many memories of my own childhood along with all the new memories I’ve made at Disney as an adult with my own children and getting to experience the magic through their eyes. What can I say? I’m a bit of a sentimental sap 🙂
Be sure to take a selfie at the Castle too!
2. Dance with Characters during the Parades
Disney always has the BEST shows and random parades happening all day long. Check the schedule for times or just stumble upon them like my family and I generally do. The shows and parades are whimsical, energetic, and so much fun! An absolute must do to catch a parade and one of the castle shows!
And yes, the characters will encourage you to participate. On my trip for the Zootopia junket, even without the kids, I was dancing with Chip and Dale in the street in front of Cinderalla’s castle. Simple magical and too much fun!
3. Ride the classics in Fantasyland
Teacups anyone? Think Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, the carousel, and more.
4. Thrill Rides Galore
Check out these 5 MUST Do Thrill rides. These are all of my families favorites and we love to ride them more than once if time allows.
With the addition of the Seven Dwarves Mine Train, even the littlest riders along along with their parents, will feel the rush of mini roller coaster that offers magnificent views of the park – especially the Beast’s castle! And if you have the Disney Photo pass you’ll love the pics that magically and seamlessly appear on your pass of you riding the Mine Train thanks to the magic bands that will recognize you! So cool! We love this family photo of us on the Mine train during our visit last year.
For bigger thrills, try Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain. They offer just enough thrill to be totally exciting, but aren’t too insane or wild for this Mama to be fearful! I love all of these rides and truly feel ecstatic riding them.
We also adore Goofy’s Barnstormer! This is another one great for the tiny riders and preschoolers — check out Kyle’s contagious giggle and ride along with us in this video!

5. Visit New Fantasyland
The magic of New Fantasyland. Participate in a show in Enchanted Tales with Belle, go Under the Sea with Ariel, ride Dumbo and more. Check out my video to see all the of the magic!
6. Dine at Be Our Guest
You’ll need to book these reservations VERY far in advance to have dinner at Be Our Guest but it is absolutely worth the planning. See our video here:
You can read my photos and video review of Dining at Be Our Guest here.
NOTE: It’s also always worth checking online to try and secure a last minute breakfast or lunch reservation at Be Our Guest too! I’ve been able to do this even just 1 week before our vacation to Disney! Life happens and peoples plans change. So there will be cancellations. Keeping an eye on availability before your upcoming trip works to secure those last minute spots. I’ve done this and have many friends who have had success the same way.
7. Top off Your Day with the Fireworks!
Disney puts on the most spectacular fireworks shows ever. And depending on the time of year, the shows tend to all be a bit different too! It’s an absolute must do to stay and see the castle illuminated in a light show and then topped off with some of the best fireworks you’ll ever see in your life. Disney has spoiled me for any 4th of July fireworks in my town forever more….. Nothing compares to a Disney fireworks show!
