This photo captures the essence of love between Kyle and Kenzie beautifully as they hold hands to help them navigate the rising tide on the sandbar during our hike from Charles Island to Silver Sands beach in Connecticut.
The hike was so much fun! We planned our visit to the beach to time with low tide so we’d be able to hike the 1/2 mile out to Charles Island on the rocky and seashell covered sand bar. Charles Island and Silver Sands beach are a great place to go for a day visit at the beach if you are in Connecticut. We parked at the Silver Sands lot (it’s a state park) and parking was free there too. (Note: There are no concessions so definitely pack lunch and snacks for your stay)

It was the perfect Father’s Day adventure for us to do as a family and the kids loved the lore of Charles Island. Supposedly Captain Kidd may have hid treasure there. Kyle spent his entire time on the island digging furiously!
