Hello Candy Land! Mackenzie, 3, was introduced to Candy Land for the very first time 36 hours ago. If it is possible to fall in love with a board game, then she has met her match as she requests we play it again and again. I remember this classic game from childhood and decided to buy it at Target when another Mother reminded me that Candy Land was the "perfect" board game for preschoolers. I forgot exactly how to play, but truly it is simplistic and ideal for a 3 yr. old. Your children don’t need to know how to read to play – they just need a basic understanding of colors – and the ability to count to 2. Mackenzie is learning all about winning and losing – important lessons for a preschooler – along with practicing basic concentration skills to play along. The actual artwork on the game really is beautiful and from a preschooler’s perspective the candy images of gumdrops, lollipops, gingerbread, and peppermint are a total dream.
