For the love of Nicholas Sparks

Are you a Nicholas Sparks fan?

May is Nicholas Sparks month at Walmart. In 1900 stores, Walmart has special Nicholas Sparks pallets set up with his books and movies at amazing value prices. Of course, his latest book, The Longest Ride, is on sale too. I haven’t read this one yet but it is on my summer reading list!

I’m always wowed by Nicholas Sparks ability to tell a tale and captivate me again and again with his totally original love stories. Just last month I read Sparks book, “The Best of Me” before heading to New Orleans to actually meet with Nicholas Sparks and catch the filming of this movie as it will hit theaters next October.  The story was fantastic and I plowed through it in 24 hours.

I had the chance to meet with Nicholas and when we chatted with him about why so often his love stories are also heartbreaking and real tear jerkers…… I loved his response as he explained that he tries to showcase the entire range of human emotion in his stories as it involves love – and that means it will also deal with confusion, frustration, joy, and of course at times heartbreak. I loved this insight and I think this is why his stories are so appealing. Although he writes love stories, I never find them predictable and I don’t always expect a happy ending tied up with a red ribbon at the completion of the book!
