It’s that time of year again! Fall means open enrollment and I know making those healthcare choices can be overwhelming and confusing. We partnered with United Healthcare to share their new engagement site which helps educate consumers about healthcare plans and all the complicated terminology that goes with it – like FSA’s, HRA’s, and HSA’s. If terminology has you stuck, take the UnitedHealthcare quiz to learn more about terms and generic health care information – the quiz is quick to complete and is fun and informative too! Promise you can do it all in 5 minutes – and come out feeling more informed about your healthcare choices. Yay!
Are you a Health Plan Pro?

After your take the quiz, enter in your personal info for a chance to win a $100 or $500 gift card. Each week from now until November 30th, a $100 winner will be chosen and each month a $500 winner will chosen too!
Which plan is right for you?
The website showcases a really cool sliding scale to help people determine which plan is right for them based on their stage of life and financial situation. For instance newleyweds compared to empty nesters compared to a family with 3 children would all have very different needs as far as whether they want a high premium or more out of pocket costs etc.
Basically, everyone’s health care situation is different, and it’s important to know the ratio between out-of-pocket costs and premiums. The UHC’s slider tool lets you quickly and easily decipher the difference. I loved how user friendly it was to figure out. Nice!
Do you get regular check ups or find yourself having to go to the doctor often?
Play the match game that teaches you all about health plan accounts like the HSA. FSA, and HRA that can help you afford those visits.
Lastly, you may be wasting money by going to the ER when you could just be going to Urgent Care or using Virtual Visits through your health plan. Figure out which services are most or least expensive by ranking them yourself. After you do a quick rank of all the service options – from ER to virtual visits — you’ll see the CORRECT answers so next time you are feeling sick or need a medical consult – you’ll be better informed.
