Disney Music Block Party: Crazy about the Imagination Movers

The Disney Music Block Party truly rocked! Our family had an incredible time when Disney took over a corner of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia – and we’re hoping they’ll be back again in 2009 as Kenzie is already begging us to “go there again!” And when we weren’t jamming and dancing in the grass, Kenzie & her best friend Kylie went crazy cutting a rug in the Disney AM Radio Tent complete with stage and dance floor. I didn’t even know there was a Disney Radio station on 640 AM! We’ll definitely be checking that out now.

The higlight of the event was definitely listening to the Imagination Movers play – and meeting them in person. I’ll be posting an interview with them soon so be on the look out! I think they totally stole the show – even more so than the ever popular Dan Zanes band. If the stars align for these folks, and it looks like they are with a TV show to hit on September 6th, I think I might just have met the next Wiggles type phenomenon. The Imagination Movers worked the crowd and got everyone dancing. Even cooler they seem like the most likeable down to earth normal guys – just like one of us. Both before and after their segment on stage they were milling throughout the park meeting families and children for photo ops and conversation. The Imagination Movers have what it takes to be true children’s band rock stars as both the Parents and Kids love them.

We loved all the bands. And what made it even more enjoyable was that we know so many of the songs since we have everyone’s CD’s compliments of a review tour with Mom Central. The Disney Records include many fabulous bands like They Might Be Giants, Disney Block Party compilation CD, Imagination Movers, Choo Choo Soul, Ralph’s World, etc. and are definitely a fantastic investment as we have been listening to at least 1 CD daily for the past 10 days! You can buy them here.

The Playskool Play Experience took the event up a notch and made it totally ideal for families with children needing to explore and burn some creative energy. Think Play-Doh tents, Mr Potato Head tents, big sandboxes filled with Tonka Trucks, Giant Inflatable Drums for the kids to bang away on and more!

We’ll be back next year!

  1. The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iPad and tested
to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so
she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
