Last year when we visited Disneyland for 48 hours, we enjoyed the most wonderful character breakfast at the Grand Californian Hotel. I highly recommend Disneyland’s Character Breakfast Storyteller’s Cafe Chip n Dale Critter Breakfast for young families excited to meet and hang with characters before a day in the park.
We had the best time at breakfast and it was a magical start to our 1st day in Disneyland!
And since we were on EAST COAST time and my son was ready to party at breakfast at 3:45 AM, we were very easily able to walk in without a reservation at 7:00 AM when the restaurant opened.
You can make a reservation in advance, but if it is sold out, do not be discouraged. This trip was planned last minute for us so I wasn’t able to secure an advance reservation, but luckily they leave seating available for walk ins. I arrived at 6:45 to get in line just to be safe and had no problem being immediately seated for breakfast when the doors opened at 7 am.
This breakfast features all the “critters” from Meek to Chip and Dale and more! Very cute.

We all loved the breakfast buffet and everything was fresh and fantastic! The characters would come out and greet us during our meal. Nothing felt rushed and we got autographs and photos with everyone. The kids were PUMPED and this was the perfect start to our day and ga
The level of service at Disney’s character meals is always outstanding. Especially if you have a family member with any type of food allergy. My son Kyle, age 5 has Celiac so couldn’t eat gluten …. and as you can imagine all a kid wants at Disney is his Mickey Waffle or Mickey Pancakes. So our server had the chef make FRESH gluten free Mickey shaped Pancakes for Kyle. They were beyond yummy and Kyle was ecstatic.
Our family motto is that there is no better place to be gluten free than at Disney!
