Embarking on a Trip to the Sweetest Place on Earth! #HersheyPA

My family and I are so excited to join the “Sweetest” Ambassador program for Hersheypark this year. To celebrate the last day of school and kick off summer, we’ll be visiting Hershey, PA this weekend and staying at the Hershey Lodge.  We’ve NEVER been to Hersheypark as a family so the kids are ecstatic.

And a vacation that is only a 90 minute car ride away is beyond convenient!!!! So much easier than dealing with an airport and hours of travel time. What a breeze for a mini family getaway! I love that we live so close to this vacation destination in Pennsylvania.  Kenzie and Kyle can’t wait to check out all the rides – Kenzie has been measuring up to see just which rides she’ll be able to conquer after meeting the Hershey team at our Mom Mixer this spring.

Kyle is ready for thrill rides and lots of chocolate obviously as well!

We arrive tonight and hope to get there in time for Smore’s Roasting and the Kids Check In process. The Hershey Lodge even offers character meet and greets so the kids are hoping to grab a few photos with Reese or a Hershey Bar or Hershey Kiss at some point over the weekend.

Hersheypark Preview Plan

If we’re feeling energetic enough, we may even tackle Hersheypark for an hour tonight. Did you know that your park ticket allows you entrance the EVENING before?  If you arrive the night before your ticket is supposed to be used, you can take advantage of the preview plan and be Hershey’s guest for 2 1/2 hours prior to the park closing. Nice!

Tomorrow we plan to get an early start as Mike is racing a 5K at the Hotel Hershey and then we’ll hit the parks! I’m sure we’ll also be tackling the Boardwalk water rides at some point over the weekend too – and definitely eating lots of chocolate! I’m dying to visit the famed Hotel Hershey with it’s Chocolate Spa later this year as countless friends and family members rave about this resort style luxury Hotel and chocolate spa experience. Can’t wait to get a peek at the Hotel if the kids and I can logistically work out getting there during Mike’s race (the Hotel is the midway point during the course) and it’s a historic grand hotel originally built by Milton Hershey during the Great Depression.

Hershey Story and Hershey Gardens

Other fun stops we hope to make time for include the famed Hershey Story museum on Chocolate Avenue and the gorgeous Hershey Gardens that are supposedly in full bloom overlooking the town of Hershey directly across from the Hotel Hershey.
