And now, these are the same scissors we’ve got in my own kitchen that I use around the house and for craft projects with the kids.

That’s older than the U.S., Canada, and even that Taj Mahal! Crazy right?? Fiskars was founded in 1649 in Fiskars, Finland. Fiskars was founded in the FiskarsVillage in Finland, which still exists today.
The world famous orange-handled scissors made Fiskars famous when they were introduced in 1967 and the company has sold over 1 billion pieces worldwide.
The company was founded as an ironworks in Finland in 1649 and after being involved in all sorts of businesses it was definitely the accidental creation of their orange handled craft scissors that made them go global. The creation of Orange Handled-Scissors was purely by chance. To use up extra plastic in the molding machine, left over from their orange juicer production, Fiskars created the first Orange Handled-Scissors.
