Free Cleaning for Breast Cancer Patients from Cleaning for a Reason

Did you know that Cleaning for a Reason is a charitable foundation that partners with over 1,000 local maid services across the USA and Canada to provide FREE home cleaning services to women battling cancer?

Incredible! One of those services you hope you never need, but I’m very glad this foundation exists. Some staggering stats on cancer in women:

The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be 805,500 new cases of cancer diagnosed in females in 2013.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Walmart and P&G partnered together to spread awareness about this service with in store displays that will reach millions of people and promote this service that many cancer patients and their families are not aware even exists.

If you’ve never heard of the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation, take a mental note to remember that this service. You never know when a loved one or loved one of a friend might need it.

My mother-in-law has Stage 4 Breast cancer so this cause is very close to my heart. At times my mother in law appears very healthy, but over the years she has had surgeries and various treatments which really make daily activities difficult or impossible.

When your battling cancer, you shouldn’t have to worry about a clean home – ideally someone else can handle that for you so you can focus every bit of energy on fighting your illness and managing your treatment plan.

I’m so excited to learn that more and more people are being introduced to Cleaning for a Reason thanks to Walmart and P&G’s in store displays. The display at Walmart features the photo of a Walmart associate who is a cancer survivor and references to Cleaning For A Reason – this way customers can learn how Cleaning for a Reason exists to serve this very basic need for home cleaning when patients are battling cancer.

Debbie Sardone says it best: “It’s women, undergoing the physical, emotional and financial rigors of cancer treatment, who need professional housecleaning services the most.  With this type of exposure, more women will become aware of what we offer and more maid services will become partners to help ease the burden of these brave women who are in the fight of their lives.”
