Wow! I had no idea that Disney Second Screen even existed before my recent trip to Los Angeles to attend the premiere for the upcoming Lion King 3D movie which releases for 2 weeks in theaters starting September 16th. After that, the Lion King 3D will be available on Blu-Ray DVD combo pack starting October 4th.
Well it rocks and my kids will be obsessing over this FREE, yes FREE Lion King app for the iPad very soon. Take a peek at my very quick preview of the app here. It will be available on October 4th, the day the Disney Lion King 3D Blu-Ray DVD-combo pack releases.
Note: This is available for the iPad or on the web via your Mac/PC. You can do much more than what I touch upon in the video as I begin to explain below too. However, for my family, using the ink & paint functionality along with playing with the screen shot sketches to “animate” the characters for the Lion King will certainly be what is the most appealing to my 3 & 5 year old kids.
What is Disney Second Screen? (per the release!)
Disney Second Screen allows views to explore the story behind the film perfectly synched on a second device, like the iPad or a laptop. Users can sync their second screen to the film automatically via their Blu-Ray player by simply starting the movie. Once connected they can explore interactive galleries, play games, and learn interesting facts about the movie scenes they are watching.
