Free Printable If I was President Writing Prompt
This exercise gets everybody thinking! The innocence and pureness of kids is genius as they have not yet been jaded by the world. I love to see what my younger kids suggest when they do this writing prompt.
Plus, the creativity and funny ideas kids come up with are fabulous! And let me tell you as a Parent or Child, it is fascinating and hilarious to go back and look at these years later to see what the kiddos have written.
Recently we found some old writing prompts from Kindergarten and 1st grade for my kids. It was so cute to see what 6 year old Kyle wanted to do if he was President versus what 14 year old Kyle thinks today!
Thought Starters to Share
If the kids are struggling, give them a few practical and silly ideas. Then share a few thought starters.
What would you do if you were President? What laws would you make?
Do you want to do something special for other kids? For parents?
Do you want to better protect the environment?
Could you make school better?
What about healthcare ? Given kids today are experiencing a life changing world due to the ongoing pandemic, maybe they have some cool ideas to share!
