Being Earth month and all, I figured I’d share the “eco-friendly” energy savings systme on my new Frigidaire fridge.
You know the more you open the door the more energy / cool air you let out of the fridge. That’s why I’m always telling the kids to NOT open the door to just browse away. Even worse is when they leave it open and walk away! But the opposite is true too – the longer I keep that door shut – even when traveling, the more energy we really save too.
Basically, when I’m on vacation or away for the weekend – it goes into energy savings mode! Love that! My Frigidaire fridge has “Energy Saver Plus Technology” which means that if my refrigerator door is not opened for 24 hours and the refrigerator system is set to the 12-hour defrost cycle, then the system automatically goes to a 96-hour compressor run time defrost cycle to conserve electricity. Nice!
