LeapFrog’s new LeapReader Reads and Writes!

For the past 5 years I’ve been a gigantic fan of LeapFrog’s educational learning toys. We were thrilled to be invited by LeapFrog to host a small party to introduce my children and their friends to some of the newest LeapFrog  products.

Take a peek at all the goodies they sent for us to play with!

Most impressive for my children and myself is their latest LeapReader product which provides a big upgrade to the beloved Tag Reader in that the new LeapReader also incorporates WRITING into the reading pen.

Incredible! We’ve been fans of the Tag Reading system since Kenzie received it for her 4th birthday and used it to help her learn to read. The Leap Reader truly combines the technology of Tag but improves upon by incorporating the ability for the pen to also let kids practice their writing skills.
Check out these notebook sets that include special “LeapReader” paper that enables the pen to write once the children click on the icon on the page to activate the pen. Genius!

Here is Kyle practicing his letters. He loves it and the pen literally talks the kids through the letters.

The new LeapFrog LeapReader pen works on all existing Tag books and any new LeapReader books. The LeapReader has MORE storage than Tag and also has a rechargeable battery too. Brilliant as I used to go through so many batteries on our Tag reader.

The biggest hit with the neighborhood kids at our party – and with Kenzie and Kyle – was the 3D Monsters University book that also comes with 3D glasses. The kids loved the glasses, but Kenzie was especially happy that even if you “misplace” your glasses the pictures still look cool and you can read the book!

Since Kyle just started Kindergarten – we were excited to share these fun printable FREE worksheets from Leapfrog with the kids. Kyle is all about practicing his handwriting and trying to guess what letters words begin with.

His Kindergarten Teacher says she believes that, “Writing is the doorway to Reading”, and seeing Kyle become passionate about writing is also causing him to really improve upon his reading skills since he started Kindergarten last month. It’s thrilling to watch him learn and tools like LeapReader truly make it possible to have fun while practicing reading and writing and not even realize he is “hard at work” learning.
