We just came back from a whirlwind long weekend at Disney in Orlando where we were lucky enough to attend the magical Disney Social Media Moms conference. Before the conference kicked off, we were able to spend the entire day at Magic Kingdom – our families favorite park. Family Castle selfie! So much to share but here’s a Day 1 recap.
Truly, attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is an AMAZING experience and I can speak for the entire family when I say we were all absolutely thrilled to have been invited to join in again after not attending for the last few years. There is ALWAYS something new happening at Disney and the every time we visit we make new memories and learn all kinds of new tips and tricks to share with our readers. And the networking and collaborating with our bloggers and entrepreneurs is priceless and I’ve made lifetime friends at this event.
Look at the gorgeous check in area for us at the Beach & Yacht Club Convention center.
When we checked in we were able to hang out with Mickey Mouse himself. Perfect way to kick off the day!
This was our 1st time using Magic Bands. Absolutely SEAMLESS experience – from room key to paying for everything to having all our reservations and everything loaded into them. Brilliant innovation and I can’t rave enough about using them. Plus, they look cool too so the kids think they rock!
We hit all our favorite rides but also carved out time to treat the kids to the Pirate’s League. Both were BEGGING us to do some kind of experience like Bibbidi Bobbidi or Pirate’s League and luckily the day before we left I was able to score an appointment for them both at the Pirate’s League. Don’t they look totally transformed???? They LOVED it and it was a thrill for us to see them all made over and having a blast immersing themselves in the Disney magic.
One of the highlights for me about a special conference like this is the chance I have to build friendships with other bloggers and families who lead a similar “digital” work lifestyle. Making it all even more special is seeing our children become friends over the years – both in real life and then online. So cool and it’s like everything comes full circle.
Here’s Kenzie on the first night at our opening party. She had a BLAST with my friend’s daughters — so we’ve got here mini versions of @VeraSweeney and @DanielleSmithTV and @HowIPinchaPenny. These girls have little blogs like Kenzie too so it’s really cool for these kids to all connect in real life. I love it!
