Post Race Glory: Kids Love the 1 Mile Run

Kenzie and Kyle had so much fun running a kids 1 Mile race this weekend – running 1 mile, hanging with friends post race, and enjoying some free facepainting and creations from balloon artists. Kenzie was extra thrilled to place as the 2nd girl in the kids 12 & under category and earn a silver medal.

Kenzie couldn’t wait to “race” and without any pressure from Mom or Dad, Kyle surprised us all when he asked if he could PLEASE race too when we were signing Kenzie up that morning.  So he was off to race in his plaid shorts and collared shirt – and loved every second of it.

Kenzie was so determined and serious about her race. See the look on her face?

She amazed us all with her 7:55 time! Incredible for a 7 year old and her running Dad and Mama were excited to see maybe we have a future runner in our midst.

And now look at Kyle. Sailing through his race with a giant smile, totally relaxed, just how he sails through life. These photos just illustrate how the kids go through life too – serious for Kenzie and easy going for Kyle.
