Here’s the scoop!

Ralph Breaks the Internet Movie Review

Heartwarming & Hilarious Movie

Ralph Breaks the Internet is a heartwarming and hilarious movie. I loved the first Wreck it Ralph movie, but I enjoyed Ralph Breaks the Internet even more! The movie further develops the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope and when things get complicated for the characters, I love how Disney tells a beautiful story about friendship and acceptance while still providing action, comedy, and entertainment. You might find yourself crying and tearing up, but like any Disney movie, the ending will leave you in smiles with a satisfying resolution.

Relevant Jokes and Internet Humor

The adults, teens, and potentially tweens will absolutely adore the jokes and internet humor that is prevalent throughout the entire movie once Ralph and Vanellope hit the net. Most of these jokes will go over the preschoolers heads, but everything is  totally hilarious, timely and relevant in today’s world of social media and the world wide web!

Seeing Ralph and Vanellope in this setting and trying to navigate their way in an online world is fun to watch and the Disney Animators and screen writers were absolutely GENIUS in the telling of this story.

Ralph Breaks the Internet Trailer

Disney Princess Sleepover Scene

OMG this scene is fabulous. You probably noticed it in the trailers. Disney pokes fun at itself and it’s brilliant. Plus, there are literally all kinds of Easter Eggs in this scene so look out for all them! I don’t want to spoil it, but there is much more to the scene that what you see in the initial trailers. So enjoy every second of Vanellope’s scene with the famed Disney Princesses!

You can read more about the Disney Princess Sleepover scene in my interview with Pamela Ribon, co-writer of Ralph Breaks the Internet and the writer who initially came up with the idea for Vanellope to meet the Princesses. Tip: Stay until the Absolute End of the Credits

I promise you will NOT be disappointed! There are actually 2 very genius scenes to view during the credits. These are must watch clips in my mind so definitely stay till the absolute end of the credits just like all you Marvel fans always do!

Favorite New Characters

Shank, voiced by Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, is brilliant, cool, and beautiful race car driver. Vanellope and her develop a rivalry that turns into friendship when Vanellope stumbles upon her video game, Slaughter Race.

Ralph Breaks the Internet

Another fab new character who helps Ralph and Vanellope during their escapades in the Internet is Yes. Yes is on the pulse of everything online and you’ll love her sage advice as it helps both Ralph and Vanellope navigate the Internet and Social Media.

Is it Safe for Kids?

Overall, this movie is great for all ages but as you know a PG rating can vary widely.

Length:

It’s almost 2 hours, so bring snacks for the little viewers!

Language:

As far as language goes, there are no “curse” words, however there is some goofy silly “PG” verbiage that characters utilize I presume to add some color and laughs to the story.

Violence:

With a PG rating, I think there is nothing super scary or overly violent within the film. However, there are 2 scenes that could be frightening for the youngest viewers that are worth noting below.

Vanellope and Ralph enter a video game called Slaughter Race, which is essentially a riff off Grand Theft Auto.  This scene could make the littlest viewers nervous. The name alone alludes to something a bit sinister! Intense and dangerous racing, plus lots of pop ups and a fire scene.  That being said, this sequence is also exciting and Shank ultimately is a “friend” to Vanellope and all about female empowerment.

There Is No Track Clip

Next, Double Dan is a creepy character that is pretty gross! Double Dan has his twin brother, Little Dan, embedded in his neck. Weird right? Ralph and Vanellope meet him when they enter the underworld of the dark net. I don’t think Double Dan is scary, but he is weird looking. I think he’ll appeal to young kids in a silly way but might gross out pre schoolers and us Mamas!
