Do you know what all those accidentally thrown out containers from our bathrooms are a GIANT missed opportunity when it comes to recycling. Think shampoo bottles and all those other miscellaneous beauty product containers.
Did you know only 24% of Americans recycle in their bathrooms?
Unilever is launching a fantastic campaign to remind all of us that recycling these wasted goodies will make a GIANT impact.
Did you know these bath and beauty bottles can TOTALLY take on new life and return as hairbrushes, backpacks or even backyard play sets? Brilliant!
RINSE. RECYCLE. REIMAGINE
Did you know the average American has 8 products in their bathroom at a given time, yet only 34% of Americans always recycle these items when empty – that could potentially send nearly 600 million plastic bottles to landfills each year!
We try hard to recycle in the bathroom. Just simply putting a bin in your bathroom will seriously help you collect those extras and remember to recycle the upstairs bottles out with the rest of your recycling each week.
To find out what qualifies items for recycling in your area and to find out what your plastic bottles could become, go toiwanttoberecycled.org/bathroom .
More Stats on Recycling Habits
- While the majority of Americans know where they should be putting their empty bottles, 42% claim that they don’t recycle because they aren’t sure an item is eligible for recycling.
- A quarter of Americans are not convinced that their recycled items can actually become something new.
- Americans are more likely to go the distance to get a drink when thirsty, charge their phone, or answer a phone call than walk an empty plastic bottle from the bathroom to the recycle bin.
