Roots for a Brighter Future Giving out Trees for Earth Day #BuySavePlant @GiantFood

This post is sponsored by Mirum Shopper. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.

Happy Earth Day! This Saturday, I partnered with Unilever to gift customers at my local Giant grocery store with free tree saplings. We gave out 500 trees! I had such a fabulous day meeting customer and brightening people’s day by giving them a tree to plant. So much fun!

So why the free trees??? We were promoting this fabulous campaign… When you buy $15 worth of Unilever products, you’ll save $5 and 1 tree will be planted in your community. So cool!  Thanks to a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and Unilever and Ahold, up to 50,000 trees will be planted in our communities until April 28th – which is the actual official Arbor Day. Hooray!

Video Recap

We did a FB live on location a few times but here’s a fun snapshot video of me chatting with Mike, the super nice manager at my local Giant. He was excited to be doing this unique promotion on Earth Day in his store.

Buy Save Plant

So this month, BUY SAVE AND PLANT thanks to Unilever. It’s easy to participate – simply buy $15 of participating products, you’ll save $5 on your purchase at Stop & Shop, Giant, Martin’s and Giant Carlisle, and then they will donate 1 community tree to be planted with each transaction. Terrific right? And so easy!

Customers were excited to get their free saplings.

Roots for a Brighter Future

The Roots for a Brighter Future program showcases Unilever and Ahold’s commitment to benefiting the Earth and promoting a brighter future. Love the efforts Unilever is always making to remind us to recycle and to help our children realize the value of our environment.

How do you and your family celebrate Earth Day? I love that this is one extra easy way this week that we can make a difference with our shopping! Our family always recycles EVERYTHING but I love the idea of planting trees with my children! We want to make this a new Earth Day tradition in our household.
