Shutters on the Beach Room Tour

What an escape. Staying on the beach in Santa Monica at Shutters on the Beach reminds me of staying in an oceanside cottage or Bed & Breakfast. Take a peek:

The details to the room are incredible. From hardwood floors to built in bookshelves to a gigantic bed to real shutters covering my balcony.

I’ve never been to Santa Monica before and it is a stunning location. The Pacific Ocean and palm trees with a backdrop of Mountains. Incredible.

Santa Monica was buzzing with activity and celebrities galore for the Independent Spirit Awards – which were held oceanside in a gigantic tent today.

A view of the ocean from my bedroom. Seeing the Pacific is thrilling.

I desperately wanted to dip my toes in this morning, but it was freezing – 40 degrees and windy – so I feared getting soaked from the huge waves.

Shutters on the Beach is set perfectly between Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier. Sadly it was freezing during my visit here today, but the sunshine was gorgeous. This morning before heading to the Spirit Awards with Aveeno, I had some free time during this whirlwind 36 hr trip.

So,  I took a long run early this morning with my good friend Whitney(aka Mommies with Style). (A major bonus of whirlwind trip is not adjusting to the time difference, which makes a 6 AM run totally comfortable!)

We loved exploring the vicinity and hanging out on the famous pier complete with Ferris Wheel.

Disclosure: As a Brand Ambassador for Aveeno, Aveeno & Recycle Bank paid for my travel expenses so I could attend the Independent Spirit Awards. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
