Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temp
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Large bag of festive valentines day M&Ms { you will be rolling the cookies in this }
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
- Mix together the butter, white & brown sugar
- Add eggs and vanilla, mix until combined
- Slowly add in the flour { one cup at a time } you may need to fold in with a spatula
- Followed by salt, baking soda and then baking powder, mix until all is combined
- Before you add your m&ms, let the dough firm up for about 2 hours at least, or over night.
- Once your dough is ready, roll into a ball, aim for golf ball size, this will help your cookies to be alot bigger
- Gently roll your cookies into the m&m mixture & once placed on cookie sheet add a few more to their tops!
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, until slightly golden onthe bottom.
- Remove from oven and let rest on the baking sheet
Tip: Letting dough sit in fridge does make a difference!
*You don’t need to roll the cookies in m&ms but I like how the m&ms look once the cookie is done baking
TRY NOT TO eat one.. or two…
Have a very sweet valentines day!
