The Disney Tangled 5K

This morning was extra magical when I ran the Tangled Royal Family 5K with 6 year old Kenzie. She found the race thrilling as expected. Kenzie says she absolutely, “LOVED IT so much – every second of it – especially the medal! ”

She was extra adorable in her super cute skirt and smiled the whole way. We are talking HUGE GIGANTIC smiles the entire 3 Miles.

We also ran holding hands at the beginning of the race- mostly to protect her from getting run over and then because I think it just felt great to run holding hands! So we also held hands as we were crossing the finish line for the last 100 yards. We had the best time ever and I’m so lucky that 2 of my new blogging friends jogged along with us which allowed us to take advantage of lots of lovely photo opps throughout Epcot. A huge thank you to Katye (@CrazyPonytail on Twitter)  and Lorraine from AskWifey.com for making our day extra special by joining us on Kenzie’s 1st 5K adventure.

Overall the race was spectacular! More to post later but wanted to at least share these cute pics of our very exciting day together. This was extra special for me to share my love of running with my little girl and see her achieve this accomplishment too. What a morning. Definitely made getting up at 4:45 AM worth it!

Before the race was basically a dance party – tons of fab music, people in costume, and dancing. The hardest part for Kenzie was the “pre-race” waiting for 1 hour for us to start running!

Kenzie kept warm wearing Katye’s marathon blanket!
