The House, opening June 30th, looks absolutely HILARIOUS! Starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler as parents who go to wild extremes to fulfill their child’s dreams. When they realize they don’t have the funds to send their daughter to university, they start an illegal casino in their own home! Ha! I can’t wait to go see this movie with my husband. You can imagine just how funny and crazy this adventure is going to be to watch on the big screen! As a parent, I can totally appreciate the sentiment of wanting to go to extreme measures to help my children achieve their goals and dreams. I profess I’ve not done anything as hilarious as opening a casino in my home to fund my kiddos swim lessons, but I seriously am a “Crazy Swim Mom” in the sense that I’ll do whatever it takes to help my kids achieve their goals. From waking up at 5:30 am to drive to early morning Long Course swim practices to pulling 12 hour days on the pool deck cheering at meets or volunteering to time to spending hours helping my daughter or son study the past meet results to help them select the right event for Champs or States. Through all this though I admit we try to keep it FUN despite the kids intensity to pursue their dreams — so to keep things fun I’m always happy to help host parties with all their friends – and this year that meant helping the girls make TUTUS to wear at PA YMCA swimming State Champs. This not so crafty Mama put her craft on and bought literally 80 yards of Tulle – and cut it all in advance of the kids arrival — so we could then make 20 Tutus together! It’s all about the journey – am I right??? And they sure looked cute on the podium!

If only you could have seen me shopping at JoAnn Fabric asking all the questions about just how much material I’d need to make 20 Tutus and then googling all the YouTube videos so I could teach myself and the kids how to make a tutu!

And let’s not forget the $1000’s we’ve spent on swim lessons from the time they were 3 years old to help them learn to swim to lessons or camps they sign up for to now to help them refine their fish skills!  And my husband and I adore capturing all the photos of the kids in action – they love it too! He’ll even create little motivational videos for them of their races. I think we enjoy it as much as them! LOL !!!!!

After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university.  With the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in his house.
