Top 10 Disney Cruise Must Do’s for Kids with Video & Photo Details #DisneyKids #DisneyCruise #WaterWanderlust

Disney Cruise offers so much fun for families both on board and on Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay. I asked the kids their thoughts on their Top 10  Disney Cruise Must Do’s for Kids and here’s the favorites that they came up with….. I profess I love everyone one of these items on our list as much as my kids so Parents I promise you will enjoy all these favorites too! We tried to include a few of our personal “hidden gems”  beyond just the basics and we included live video footage of many of these experiences so you can get a real taste of the magic. We’ve sailed on both the Disney Dream and Fantasy and highly recommend both ships. Disney Cruise gave our family priceless memories and cruising is such a convenient and relaxing way for families to travel.

Note: Every night Disney offers up a stellar broadway style show that is absolutely NOT to be missed. We didn’t include that on our list, because my kids assumed everyone would go to the shows – so my Mom tip is whatever you do, don’t skip the show!

Top 10 Disney Cruise Must Do’s for Kids

Take a peek at our favorite suggestions and Must Do ideas with Kids while your sailing with Disney Cruise Lines.

1. Ride the Aqua Duck

Both the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy feature this fantastic waterslide. It’s popular for all ages so lines can get long.  Tip:  We recommend bringing your bathing suit in your carry-on luggage, so when you first arrive on board you can enjoy the waterslide. Lines are also short when people are off exploring the islands.

We’ve stayed on board before on a stop in Nassau just to allow ourselves more times to enjoy all the ship has to offer – from the spa to the waterslides!

For littles under the height requirements for the Aqua Duck, they will enjoy the Mickey Slide shown in this pic along with having a fabulous splashing time in Nemo’s Reef on both the Disney Dream and Fantasy. And on the Disney Fantasy, the kids and parents can also get wet and wild in the Aqua Lab.

 2.  Play in Andy’s Room or Pretend Your Flying the Millennium Falcon in the Oceanneer’s Club

The Kids clubs on Disney Cruise Lines are outstanding. Amazing activities for the kids, themed out areas that kids will love, and security that will make Mom and Dad VERY comfortable too. The Disney Dream’s Oceanneer Club was just renovated to include this awesome upgrade to look like the Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Isn’t it awesome?

Both the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy include Andy’s Room from Toy Story. It’s so adorable and fun for playtime. Parents you should definitely do some playtime there when you drop off your kids for the first time so you can see it all too!

You might just bump into a Green Soldier like we did on our last cruise!

3. Explore the Mid Ship Detective Agency

This interactive game lets kids and adults solve a mystery on board the ship. It’s a fabulous way to explore the ship and get yourself oriented on board too! You’ll see all kinds of animated and Enchanted art as you seek clues to solve your mystery and there is a variety of scenarios so you won’t always have the same culprit in your case!

4. Goofy’s Mini Golf

Visit Deck 13 for Goofy’s Sports deck and play a game of Mini golf. 9 holes of silly fun! Views are fabulous but watch out for the wind as you can tell in my video below!

5. Hang with your favorite Disney characters

At sea and on land, you’ll run into countless Disney characters. You can check out your Naviagator to find out when and where you’ll favorite characters will be appearing. Or, if you prefer not to always plan ahead like me, I promise you’ll run into countless favorites as there are plenty of opportunities to mix with the Disney princesses or  Mickey and the gang. We’ve had great luck bumping into favorites before and after dinner in the atrium and at Castaway Cay.

6. Visit Pepe’s Door

Disney is all about the details to create a totally magical experience. Muppet fans will love this detail. For instance, on the Disney Fantasy, guests can visit Pèpe the King Prawn’s Stateroom — 5148 ½ just down the hall from the Kids Club. The door has clues and magnets all over it as part of the Disney MidShip Detective game.

Kenzie especially loves this bit as Pepe just so happens to be her fave Muppet of all time!

7. Get styled at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League then grab a sweet treat at Vanelloppee’s Sweet Treat Cafe

We heart the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Pirate’s League at the Magic Kingdom, so if you have time on your sailing adventure on the Disney Dream or the Disney Fantasy, add this activity to your list of things to do. Boys love the Pirates League, but, girls will LOVE the Pirates League too – it’s one of Kenzie’s favorite experience. All little girls – young and old – love getting a fancy cool hair too and transformative make up!

On the day of the Pirate Party, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will transform into the Pirate’s League for Pirate Makeovers.

8. Explore Castaway Cay – Pelican Plunge Waterslides, Snorkeling, and more!

There is SO much to do on Castaway Cay. This is the one port that you MUST explore. Plus, since it’s Disney’s private island, you’ll pull right up to the shore and  it’s free to explore the beaches and enjoy all the amenities. You can also snorkel right on the beach, enjoy all the waterslides, and rope courses in the water. Take a peek at Pelican Plunge here:

For a small fee you can also sign up to feed the stingrays, ride bikes, or go to the adult only beach for spa services in beautiful cabanas with an ocean view!

9. Party like Pirates and see the Fireworks at Sea on Pirate Night

Dress in your favorite pirate gear or just style up your regular clothes with a Pirate Bandanna. Everyone loves Pirate night! Fantastic parties on deck topped off with fireworks at Sea. Even if your kids can’t stay up late enough to enjoy the evening fireworks at sea, there will be all kinds of Pirate fun and games on deck post dinner to enjoy that are long before the late night fireworks in the  6-8 pm time frame.

10. Take a stroll to explore Deck 4 and play Shuffleboard at Sea

I think Deck 4 is a hidden gem on Disney Cruise ships. This deck offers a jogging and walking loop along being a surprisingly fantastic place on board to explore with the kids. Deck 4 is off the beaten path so a great place to go if you want to escape the crowds and enjoy some quiet family time. Hanging out on Deck 4 is like stepping back in time as the vibe reminds you of cruising in the 1900’s. This quiet deck offers gorgeous views, shuffleboard, and comfy lounge chairs.
