What's The Talk on CBS all about?

Moms I think you’re gonna love this new show on CBS, “The Talk”  – with a panel of hosts that are “all female” and “all mom” .  Today I was able to chat with these girls over lunch in New York City at CBS studios – as they are gearing up for the launch of their TV show  and hitting the road for a press junket.

I was beyond wowed by this group of  women. Make that like a triple wow. Truly, I found them all inspiring. And what I think I loved most is that this show was created with Motherhood in mind. Here’s a cute clip of the brilliant Sara Gilbert -who created the concept of this show and pitched it to the network –  explaining why she thought we needed “The Talk.” (Remember her from Rosanne? And yes this smart actress even went to Yale! She was born in 1975 like me so I think maybe that’s why I felt like I could relate to her…. obviously we’ve led very different lives!)

The hosts really are meant to be a group of friends talking about whatever we all talk about….. along with being very real and sharing their own lives too when it fits. And that even includes the kids! We saw some trailers that even included some sweet home footage of Sara Gilbert’s kiddies brushing their teeth and Leah Remini’s hubby’s dirty underwear that he can’t quite manage to put in the laundry basket. (Yes my husband also must believe a Boxer Fairy lives in our house and is the one who puts the underwear  in the basket!)

And they appear to be a cast that will really balance each other out on the energy platform with the talkative and hysterical Leah and Marisa paired with the seemingly more serious Julie  Chen, Sara Gilbert, and Holly Robinson Peete.

And let’s not forget Sharon Osbourne. I honestly think she might just steal the show with her pearls of wisdom. Today, she just touched me with her sage advice as she shared quite a few  life lessons with us today regarding motherhood, how to deal with bullies, and the power of television.  (Honestly I’ve never seen her on TV before so had no idea what to expect – as you all know my $16 cable package does not include much… I seriously need to invest in a better package and some DVR so I can watch more TV!)

The Talk will air on October 18th, 2010 at 2 PM on CBS. Enjoy!

160 thousand kids stay home from school each day to avoid being bullied.I Pedro Dixon is asking; our Celebrities to please, take some time to visit a school talk about Bullying. Please. Our children loves our Celebrities of all kinds. they look up to the Glamor and Glitter, the Sports Figure, the Politican. I read Tim McGraw has visted his relative school which made a huge diffrence. Maybe y’all can help save our children. And help get other children back in school.

  2. I am so looking forward to the show. I think as a mom of a 7 year old we can look forward to learning more. I absolutely love, love Holly!

  3. The show is terrible!! It not only is a rip off of The View, but is only geared towards mothers.

I have been so fed up with Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, I was looking for some interesting talk…This show is not it.

I like hearing about adoption and their kids, but they really need to expand a little, and keep Leah shut up.

I hate to take it off of my DVR, but it’s painful to watch Leah get up and try to wrestle Holly or Sharon.

She’s gotten on my nerves so bad…I cannot even watch reruns of “The King of Queens”. UGHHHH!!!!!
