3 Tips for Visiting Disney’s Cars Land with Video, Photos, and Impressions

Stepping foot into Cars Land is like dying and ending up in Radiator Springs. Gorgeous and totally Cars inspired. Check out my top 3 tips for visiting Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure Park with videos, photos, and lots of advice.

The few hours I spent in Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure Park last week were incredible. So excited to share my photos and videos with everyone.

It was my 1st trip EVER to Disneyland & California Adventure so this was an amazing opportunity to get a taste of the west coast magic. I admit it was somewhat bittersweet without my normal tiny traveling companions but I loved every second of the trip and had a marvelous time hanging out with 23 other inspiring bloggers from all over the US and Canada. And now I have an even better excuse to return to Disneyland and Cars Land to share the magic with Kenzie and Kyle.

Seriously, as you step into the park you are immediately immersed in the movie. Look at this backdrop???

Here’s a quick video to give you a real taste of Cars Land:

As an adult I felt like I stepped into the actual movie. Truly, I was standing in Radiator Springs in my mind – so I can only imagine how my 4 and 6 year old would feel if they had been with me. Visiting Disneyland has always been a “must do” for me on my life bucket list, but with the addition of Cars Land, this is a must do for any Disney fan.

The attention to detail within the park is outstanding. Truly, the Disney Imagineers brought the Cars world to life and I find that Disney really shines in the details.

From the signs you’ll see to the Cozy Cone Motel, it’s all here and every nook and cranny is worth absorbing and investigating.

My 3 Tips for Visiting Disney’s Cars Land:

1. Visit both Day and Night – including at Sunset. Cars Land changes thanks to the neon lights come nightfall plus a sunset in Cars Land is a must do. See this picture and you can see how the setting sun hits the Red Rocks of Radiator Springs just as they would if you were really hanging out on Route 66.

2. Riding Radiator Springs Racers is a MUST DO.  Radiator Springs Racers, is one of the largest and most elaborate attractions created for a Disney theme park. It’s fabulous and also has FAST PASS. If you hope to use FAST PASS on Radiator Springs Racers, you must immediately try to grab this as soon as the park opens as they are often gone for the day by 10:00 AM if not sooner since this new attraction is so popular.

Gigantic at over 300,000 square feet! It’s fabulous and fun for the whole family – assuming you meet the 42 inch height requirement of course.

There is nothing scary about this attraction and I know my 4 and 6 year old children would have absolutely loved it. The speed is far less than that of Test Track at Epcot and there are no scary drops. Just sheer fun and a chance to be a race car driver in the world of Cars of course!

3. Leave a minimum of 1/2 a day to fully enjoy the Cars Land section of Disney’s California Adventure Park and all it has to offer. The Cars Land expansion is 12 acres but there is a ton to see and do here to immerse yourself in the experience. With more time, you can take in the details, the attractions, and all 3 rides. Plus, there are other interactive activities that happen in Cars Land.  Ideally you can spend more time and come back and forth between parks if you have allowed 3 days in the area so you can really soak in all that is Cars Land and Disneyland.

I didn’t partake in the “extra” activities in Cars Land given my fast forward tour, however, according to the Disney publicity team, “The streets of Radiator Springs are humming with entertainment, too. DJ, the ultimate party car — a big road-trippin’ mobile boom box with giant speakers and built-in disc changer – invites his crew to “DJ’s Dance ‘n Drive,” a spontaneous, interactive dance party. And Red the Fire Truck recruits guests of all ages to join “Red to the Rescue!”– helping water the flowers and clean up the town of Radiator Springs. (Prepare to get wet!) ”

Sounds fun right?

More about  Cars Land:

The 3 rides are Luigi’s Flying TiresMater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers.

Take a peek at this video of Tow Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree here – I think my kids would ADORE this ride and so would I too!

Everything in Cars Land will be familiar to fans of the movie, including Flo’s V8 Café, Cozy Cone Motel and Ramone’s House of Body Art.

Also, Lightning McQueen and Mater make appearances and pose for photos near the Cozy Cone Motel.

Disclosure: Thanks to Disney for paying for my travel and expenses along with giving us a VIP tour of Disneyland and Cars Land. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
