| We got a sneak peek at a screener copy of the new Thoms & Friends: The Great Discovery movie soon to be released on DVD on 9/9/08. This is the 1st full length movie style release for Thomas - all about Thomas discovering and then restoring a long lost town on Sodor. I would recommend this over any other Thomas dvd's we've ever reviewed. I found it a more exciting adventure for sure! As expected my 2.5 year old was enthralled, but what parents will like best is that Pierce Brosnan of 007 fame was the narrator. Very cool. And I totally got a kick out of the cheeky "train like" play on expressions and exclaimations used again and again. | ||

| Just finished this fantastic summer read - The Beach House - Jane Green's latest book. I first fell for her chick lit after reading Jemima J. The Beach House takes place on Nantucket which is a refreshing change from the typical NYC style chick lit. Love the location in this book and how Jane Green intertwines the lives of a handful of characters, all with separate stories and who do not know each other, until ultimately they all come together for a summer at "The Beach House" in Nantucket. Once I started reading I couldn't really put it down. And the ending with a twist will surprise you too! As a a busy Mom of 2, I somehow managed to finish this read in less than 48 hours. Run out and get a copy and I bet you'll soon be a Jane Green fan if you aren't already. | ||

| With the sparklers and fireworks over 4th of July, I actually (and unfortunately!) had chance to truly review a product called Burn Jel. Basically, Lidocaine which relieves and soothes burns, scalds, and sunburns. Luckily, we just had a minor burn - we cautioned the 2 year olds with their sparklers not to touch sparklers - however, my little goddaughter Kylie touched the tip after it burned out and got a little blister on her fingertip. She was a tough cookie and didn't cry, but said it totally hurt. We gave her ice and then I applied this Burn Jel for anyone aged 2 & up. Seemed like it helped as we were back to the sparklers within 5 minutes! Excellent emergency care product to keep in the medicine cabinet. | ||

| I've been gaga for tutus lately as Kenzie has hit the princess and fairy stage. Any time I need to do a little convincing all I need to say is "what would a princess do." Works like magic everytime. And fairies are the next best thing and we're now pretending this gorgeous pixie tutu embellished with little sparkles from Lily Cait is our Tinkerbell costume... This tutu, made by a loving mommy, is one of the best quality tutus I've ever reviewed and it is just layers and layers of tulle with an easy fit. I love using a tutu like this as a costume compared to the pre-styled Disney costumes as a tutu has so many purposes for dress up - the only limits are your imagination! | Love it! I was able to review this Vtech Cordless telephone and it is now our main household home phone. Totally sleek and modern. It has the feel of a high tech slim cell phone but I think this phone is even more comfortable to chat with as the length of the phone resembles your old standy cordless home phone so it is easy to hold onto while roaming through the house. The other really cool feature is that you can insert your own graphics on the back plate of the phone. Right now we're using one of the VTech designs but we plan to put a collage of family photos on the phone. | ||

| Juggling 2 kids in a parking lot gives me a real appreciation for this parking lot safety related gizmo. The Parking Pal magnet is as simple as can be and it totally makes sense. Just place it on the side of your car and tell the kiddos to place their hand there and NOT MOVE while you load the trunk with groceries or buckle other toddlers and infants into their car seats. I honestly have had a few close calls with my 2 year old - she has never been in danger of being hit by a vehicle but I find it awkward for her to know where to stand while I load the baby into his seat and sometimes she moves right in front of the car door as I'm opening it and one time she was even struck down by the door as I opened it! Lucikly she was fine but it was a real wake call about just how dangerous parking lots can be for little ones.
