Disney’s Best Kept Secrets: The Pirate’s League at Magic Kingdom. Check out our Disney’s Pirate’s League Review, Tips, and photos from our fantastic experience at the Pirate’s League. Both girls and boys will totally LOVE this one of a kind Disney experience that will bring the magic to life. Storytelling at it’s best!
I highly recommend booking an appointment at the Pirate’s League if you are looking for an extra-special, memorable and affordable Disney experience. Both my son and my daughter were thrilled with their Pirate makeovers. From the parental perspective, both my husband and I loved watching the kids during the Pirate makeover process and we loved seeing them in costume the rest of the day.

We also love the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience at Cinderella’s castle which you can watch our video and read our Bibbidi Bobbie Boutique review here.
Disney is in the business of helping families make memories together and bringing stories to life. If your kids love Pirates and if the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride is a favorite, then definitely consider adding a Pirate’s League appointment to your trip itinerary.
We love the Disney “experience” options and the Pirates League makeovers are one of the easiest on your wallet and they are super convenient as you can get your makeover at the Magic Kingdom right next door to the Pirate’s of the Caribbean attraction in Adventureland.
These pirate transformations were so fun for the kids and us – and a total joy to walk around the park in for the rest of the day too!
Tip: Advance reservations are generally required. Book appointments so that your kids can simultaneously (or within 15 minutes) get a makeover too – this saves time and they’ll enjoy both getting made over at once. You can read information and get the contact phone number to call and book your Pirate’s League appointment here.
Pricing starts at $29.95. This is the basic package and what I bought for my children. It is called the “First Mate” package for boys, and the “Empress” package for little girls. As you can tell from our photos, my kids received plenty of Pirate loot.
When your kids arrive, they will first create their own unique Pirate Name. Super cool as they spin a wheel, roll dice, and give their birthday which then generates a unique Pirate name for each child.
The Pirate’s League Basic $29.95 package details:
My kids each received the following items as part of their Pirate’s League makeover:
- Pirate bandanna
- Eye Patch
- Pirate medallion necklace
- Pirate Earring
- Certificate with their new Pirate name on it
- Velvet Pirate League Bag
- Pirate sword & sheath
- Temporary Tatoo
- The actual Pirate Makeover – hairstyling for the girls with makeup, and for the boys this involves more “facial” makeup like drawing on a beard or mustache for the little boys
- Participation in the daily Adventureland Pirate Parade
- Mini manicure with nail polish and lip gloss & make up set – for the girls only
- Photos if you have signed up for the Disney Photo pass (which we did – so it then included all our official Pirate photos too!)

Other packages are available and increase in cost up to $74.95. These packages include costumes and a few more bells and whistles. My kids were more than happy to just literally EXPERIENCE this Pirate themed makeover so I don’t think buying a fancier package is required to fully enjoy and maximize a trip to the Pirate’s League.
How Long will a Pirate’s League Makeover Take?
With a busy day planned at the parks, deciding how much time this will take out of your day is an important consideration for those on a limited schedule. think this is totally worth it as I love the one of a kind Disney experience more than time on rides. My kids are still begging me to PLEASE book them another Pirate’s League makeover on our next trip to Disney since they loved it so much and remember it as a highlight of our entire vacation.
However, I admit I have had the privilege to take my kids to Disney on multiple occasions. Regardless, I still prefer the memory making of something like the Pirate’s League versus more time on amusement rides or waiting in lines.
I think the decision to book is also personal preference. Does your family love wild rides? Or do you prefer the other magical Disney experiences like shows, parades, and something like the Pirate’s League or a character breakfast that doesn’t involve lines?
Plan on about 1 hour for your Pirate’s League appointment. It may take less time, but this is a great ballpark and over estimates how long it will likely take from the start of your scheduled appointment. Since everything is booked in advance, I find they due run close to schedule. Hooray!
The actual makeover probably takes 15-20 minutes but after you check in you might wait a few minutes to get started. Then, your child will create their own pirate name, before beginning their makeover. After the makeover, the kids will enter a secret chamber. At the very end they’ll take a special Pirate Oath and be presented their own certificate with their unique pirate name on it.

Check out a few shots that showcase the Pirate “vibe” of the decor in the Pirate’s League. It is super cool and all out Pirate decor. You’ll love it!
Here is Kenzie getting her Pirate “Empress” makeover:
Overall, the Pirate’s League is an amazing experience for both kids and parents. It’s especially fabulous that you can do all this for only $29.95 and in terms of Disney dollars that is a total steal in my opinion as this package has a ton of value – from the memories, to the actual makeover, to all the souvenirs your children will receive as part of their Pirate’s League experience.

Hi,
We are planning on visiting the Pirates League next month when we visit Disney with our 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son – please could you tell me a rough idea of how much the costumes are and what’s on offer for the girls? Is it just the black and pink pirate dress or do they do the black and pink tutu and t shirt as well?
Many thanks,
Jo
Moving day can feel more like chaos than order, especially when there are half a dozen movers running around your home, packing up your belongings, and carrying out your furniture.
There are ways to make the process simple so that you
can continue to experience the thrill of moving out of
your house. After concluding your research you will get experienced,
secure, reliable, economical and quality moving service
providers, if a Packers Movers full fill your
relocation needs and preferences you can hire it for your shifting.
What i don’t realize is actually how you’re no longer really much mre smartly-liked than you may be now.
You’re so intelligent. You know thus significantly when itt comes too this topic,
made me in my view believe it from a lot of numerous angles.
Its lie men and women aren’t intereste until it’s something

Just to let you all know. The price is now starting at $39.95. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the take home pamphlet that says ‘All prices are subject to change without notice”. The Mermaid package is $39.95 and The First Mate and Empress package are now $44.95. This is as of July 2016.
It’s remarkable to pay a quick visit this web site and
reading the views of all mates about this piece of writing, while I am also keen of getting experience.
