How to Make Easy Duck Tape Hair Bows for the 4th of July Patriotic Style

 

Ready to show some patriotic spirit for Independence Day? This weekend we easily made some Duck Tape Hair Bows with patriotic American flag Duck Tape. Here’s the scoop on what we did and how to make easy Duck Tape Hair Bows for the 4th of July. Kenzie, age 8, was able to do this project by herself once I showed her how to do it.

We picked up this patriotic duck tape at our local Walmart for only $3 per roll. Total deal as these are HUGE rolls so you’ll have all kinds of tape left over for other projects. There is a huge variety and assortment of colors and styles so really let your imagination go wild. I obviously wanted the patriotic flag tape paired with this red glitter sparkle tape since that goes along with our 4th of July theme.

Step by Step instructions on How to Make Duck Tape Hair Bows

Step 1. Cut a piece of tape 8-10 inches long.

Step 2. Fold the tape in on itself so both sides are sealed showcasing the pattern of the tape on both sides.

Step 3. Pinch the your strip of tape in the center to make a bow shape. Repeat and pinch again so it is scrunched how you would like it.

Step 4. Cut a piece of tape Approximately 1/4 inch thick – or whatever size looks right for the style and size of bow you are designing. Next, wrap this bit of tape about the center of your bow.

Step 5. Insert Bobby Pin on the back of the bow through the extra bit of tape you put in the center of your bow.  Simple!

Congrats! You’re bow is finished. Wasn’t that easy?
